At my awakening, I really felt like I did deserve that flick from Jania the night before. How could I have been so stupid to not realise that it wasn't him asking me to be friends, he was trying to say that he saw me as more than a friend. And it was at that moment, that I started to panic. I rushed out of bed, walked around in a distressed manner, I got dressed in fresh clothes. I also did my hair and paid some extra care to it. My face was growing brighter and brighter. How was I going to face him? I didn't know how to, I couldn't even imagine or process the scene. How could I approach him? I was a total nerve wreck.
My heartbeat grew faster and faster at the thought of trying to bring back that subject. I liked him back so I should just imagine myself telling him directly after a small amount of smooth talk. Yeah, no. It did not fit right in my mind. Okay, okay. Calm down. The first step: getting out of this room. Second step: eat, get ready again and walk out. Say hi to Jania as well. Step three: find Gwaine. Once you found him, then came the final step: tell what you feel for him. That was something that I thought of, or at least along the lines of it. That situation would have been idealistic. Life, unfortunately, doesn't tend to work that way unless all the luck in the world has been bestowed upon you.
I got a slight fright when I heard a knock on my door. I rushed to open it, hoping it would not be Gwaine. It was too early for me to face him, I wasn't quite ready. A sigh of relief: it was Jania. She got confused at my sigh. I ignored her questions and just continued to prepare. Once done I asked her to accompany me to get food. She happily agreed. When we had arrived, I noticed Gwaine was nowhere to be seen. Perfect, I have some luck on my side for now:
-Hey so... Where's Gwaine?
-Hm? Oh he's outside, near the fields. He said he wanted to sharpen his sword.
-Okay, thanks. Do you think he'll like it if I bring him this?
-Chicken sandwich? You know that's his favourite right?
-Right. I forgot.
-Before you go, he seemed a little down or deep in thought. I tried to talk to him but he was extremely avoidant. Which is probably why he's alone right now.
-Okay, thanks Jania. I'll see you later!
-Good luck.
I walked off, but I had heard her faint good luck. I guessed she figured out why I wanted to see Gwaine.
The plains were surrounding the stronghold so I needed to walk out first. As I was walking around the walls to figure out where he was, I grew more and more nervous. How was I going to tackle this, that was the real question. Then I saw him, sat down, sharpening his sword. Almia was peacefully grazing nearby. Just like Jania had said he was. He looked lost in thought but concentrated on how he sharpened his sword. I saw him and felt a warm tug. Then I realised, what if he actually wanted to be best friends? That was more than friends. And I grew nervous again. I looked away to calm down, I wanted to walk away. I tried not to but I took a step forward, leading further away from him.
-Luna..?
-... Shiiiit...
He noticed me, there was no running away now. I couldn't avoid him, and running off would be stupid since he could easily catch up with me.
