-DREAM POV-
When the two boys left, they had headed in the direction of George's hobbit house. I hoped that Sapnap had split off at some point along the journey because I didn't want confrontation from him and needed to speak to George privately, which the raven haired male would definitely not allow now.
The area around was uncomfortably silent, the shutters on the windows were closed and the fish swum awkwardly in circles against a corner of the pond. I tiptoed around the edge of the house towards the door, stopping by the shutters to listen for conversation inside, but there wasn't any. I could hear a faint cry which I recognised immediately.
Not wanting to startle him I knocked on the door gently, if it was any other day, I would've let myself in without a second thought but after everything that had happened it wasn't the best option. The muffled cries ceased and it took a few seconds before I heard footsteps approaching. The door opened and he stood before me, seemingly unimpressed by company but as soon as he recognised me his eyes widened.
Forcefully my hand flew over his mouth to stop him from calling out, pushing him backwards at the same time into the house and closing the door behind me. I looked down directly into his eyes and couldn't help but smile at those golden honey-coloured corneas. "I'm not going to hurt you George okay? Don't scream," I grumbled lightly, he nodded hesitantly but still didn't move my hand. "Please, trust me. I just came to talk and then I'm leaving. I promise." His nod was less hesitant this time and his eyes softened ever so slightly. Removing my hand, I closed my eyes as I expected him to start screaming for help. He didn't. He simply continued staring at me for a moment before returning to the bed.
I awkwardly fumbled with my hands before heading to sit next too him. There was no tension between us, but quiet still surrounded the room. We stole quick glances of each other in turn until our eyes caught one another at the same time, a chuckle coming from his mouth. Melting my heart. I couldn't help but snicker back and within seconds the two of us had exploded into manic laughter.
Once it died down, the warmth emitting from his body became more noticeable. "George..." Was all I needed to mutter for him to fling his arms around my waist and bury his head onto my chest, holding onto me for dear life. I subconsciously wrapped my arms around him protectively and basked in the familiar feeling that I had been deprived from for so long. "George I need to tell you something." He hummed into my chest, the vibrations and tickle of his breath sending chills down my arms which in turn stood my hairs up on their ends. I allowed him to stay in the same position for a few moments before lifting him off me and setting him down to my side. "This is important." My tone stern, making him understand. "I have to leave."
"How long will you be gone?" He questioned.
"No, you don't understand, I have to really leave. I won't be coming back."
"And you want me to go with you? That's why you came?" Doe like eyes glistening.
I contemplated asking him but the thought of hurting him by bringing him along prevented me, the whole reason I was leaving is because soon enough I wouldn't be able to control the nightmare inside of me and it would destroy everything I love. I couldn't bring him down with me. "No. I wish I could take you with me but it's not possible." I pulled my mask over my head, rubbing harshly at my skin as the cold air hit it. If this was the last time I was going to be seeing George, I didn't want to keep it on. It's nothing he hadn't seen before but generally something I still didn't do.
"So, you've come here to tell me you're running away like a scared little boy after you completely massacre Tubbo and you... Tommy..." He trailed off, the sudden switch of his attitude and sourness hurt.
