It's now Thursday and the band is more excited than ever since they're just 2 days away from performing at the Orpheum. The past couple days the band has been putting in a ton of extra hours practicing. Today is their last day to practice before they all go on vocal rest until the sound check.
"Hey guys, great job today but I better be getting home," Alex said while yawning. "I wish I could say the same," Skylar heard Luke whisper under his breath. They made eye contact and Luke realized she had heard him.
Luke hated living in the garage. He missed his parents, his warm bed, and home cooked meals. Most of all, he missed his mom. She meant the world to him, and for as long as the band knew him, they knew she was his everything, next to music of course. It hurt him to know that the one thing he loved as much as her, she didn't support.
Once Alex had left so did Bobby, and now it was Luke, Reggie, and Skylar. Skylar turned off her keyboard and waited for him to take off his guitar. The second he took it off she gave him a hug. They both knew that's all he needed. That would be enough to get him through.
The hug only lasted a couple seconds before Reggie joined and said, "Don't you just love hugs?" Luke and Skylar let go of the hug and gave Reggie a concerned look and before they knew it, they were all dying of laughter.

The next morning Luke woke up to find both Reggie and Skylar sleeping in the garage. They all passed out after their late rehearsal the night before. He looked at the clock on the wall and it said 9:30.
He walked up the ladder to the loft, slowly trying to keep it from creaking. He didn't want to wake either of the other two up. When he got up there, he found his notebook open to Now Or Never, the song the band was opening with the next day. He started to feel joy fill his body as he plopped onto a bean bag and started flipping through his notebook.
So many memories and emotions ran through his brain as he looked at each song. The day the band got together, they day Skylar joined, even the time he ran out. He remembered everything, good and bad, leading up to when they booked the Orpheum.
Reggie's POV
I woke up to see Skylar sleeping next to me in the studio. Luke was nowhere to be seen but I heard a light strumming from the loft. It was In Your Starlight, the song he wrote when Skylar joined Sunset Curve. It killed me on the inside to hear him play it because of what I was doing today.
I heard Skylar shuffle next to me, snapping me out of my thoughts. She slowly opened her eyes and sat up. I looked at her and said, "Morning." "Morning Reg," she said clearly tired, and as soon as she heard Luke playing a smile grew on her face as she plopped back down.
Then I heard Luke climb down the ladder after hearing Skylar sing lightly to In Your Starlight. "Morning sleepyheads," he said laughing at us both obviously half asleep. "Wanna go get breakfast?" He continued.
Skylar and I made eye contact before looking back at him and nodding. Honestly, I didn't want to go home to find our parents fighting again, and I don't think Skylar did either.
"Hey Luke, can I borrow one of your sweatshirts," Luke nodded to Skylar and he ran over to the ladder and rushed up it. Skylar was looking up, waiting for him to toss one down. She saw him rummaging through random piles, grabbing numerous shirts and smelling them.
"You got two options," he yelled down, "My orange one with a coffee stain or my navy one with a rip on the cuff." Skylar laughed at him and shouted back, "Whichever one doesn't smell like a sweaty guitar player!" He pulled both of them back to his face before throwing down the navy one with white, bolded letters. "Thanks Luke." He leaned over the railing and flashed her a cheeky smile.
