Yes, I passed the exam and now I am one of the students who got a scholarship in this school. Ipinakita ko lang sa guard ang pekeng school ID ko and I'm good to go. It was still 6 in the morning but I could already spot early bird students roaming around the campus.
I stared at the gold letters proudly placed at the top of the school's main building.
Vasquez University
It's the school's name. Precisely! It's a private school. The campus was quite huge base on what was in the map.
It's a boarding school and boarding is what I really hate in all my student journey. Boarding means dealing with bitchy roommates, stinky laundry, noisy neighbors and of course curfews. Have I said that, even if you have a scholarship, you'd still spend a fortune for your dormitory and your food. Nonsense. If I were a true beggar, I'd probably still end up starving myself to death with all my expenses and drop out of this school. Anyway, that's not me. At least this time puwede na akong pumili kong sino ang makakasama ko sa dorm ko. Which would be no one. I hate sharing a room with anyone.
Yes, they have an archery range. Can this school get any cooler? They must have distanced the dormitories for a reason, huh.
"Gray!"
I stopped in my tracks when I heard a familiar voice. Am I hearing things just now? Or did I heard Kayne's voice?
"Gray Vantress!"
It was really her. How the hell did she get here? And seriously, she actually recognized me in this get up.
"Surprise!" Malakas siyang tumawa kaya napairap ako. "What's with that face, di mo ba ako na miss?" Sabi niya at umaktong nalulungkot. Pinahid niya pa ang pekeng mga luha.
Hindi ko pinansin ang kaartehan niya. "Anong ginawa mo at naligaw ka rito? Did you do something stupid and you got kicked out of your house?" I looks at her intently.
She barked a very loud laughter that caught the attention of passersby. "Of course not!"
"Then what in hell brought you here?"
Napanguso siya at nag-alangan pang sumagot.
"Inuubos mo ang pasensya ko. Tell me, or I'll kick you out of this school." Pagbabanta ko na ikinakamot niya.
"I ran away.." pabulong niyang sagot.
"WHAT THE HELL KAYNE YNESSA SUSZAINNE SAVA?!"
