Jess and Matt had both gone upstairs to sleep. Even though it was early, they were both exhausted from that day. Matt wasn't as tired as Jess was of course but he knew that if he didn't go up there with her and say he was tired too then she wouldn't go upstairs.

Mike and Sam stayed downstairs at the dining room table to talk.

"So, you said.. your side of the story?" Mike asked, trying to start up the conversation.

Sam smiled and then looked down at her hands. "Well you said that you knew you loved me back at the lodge. Or at least admitted you did then. But I was drawn to you as soon as I saw you..."

Junior Year

Sam had been in that classroom with Hannah the first time she and Mike had spoke. Hannah had been talking to her about the boy she liked named Mike.

"Mike... Oh Mike. Damn I feel like I know that name."

"Mike Munroe. He's running for class president. I think he's gonna get it."

It had been junior year. Late junior year. And that was the first time she had heard of him. But she hadn't even known how intrigued he was by her.

Then he had walked up to her and tried to talk to her. "Hey, I like your outfit." He had said to her.

"You like how it looks or you like how it looks on me?" She remembered asking him. He had stuttered his way out of the conversation and just walked away after that.

She hadn't even known it was him until she turned to Hannah and saw her staring at him as he left.

Sam had made the connection in her head. "Oh no. No way in hell. That is never happening." She said to Hannah. Hannah broke herself out of her lovestruck daze and then looked at Sam.

"Why not?" She asked her.

"Because. I know his type. I'm not letting you get hurt by that." She said to her as she looked back to the boy that had been looking in her direction.

Once he had seen her looking back at him, he made his way out of the classroom and into the hallway.

But when he had left her sight she had this feeling in her stomach that had only grown each time she saw him. Then there had been his election video she had found.

She had watched it herself many many times. Not because she was really interested in what he was saying but because she liked the sound of his voice.

She tried to listen to it over and over to try and make herself get annoyed by it but she didn't. If anything, it just made her like it more.

She had seen him around school after that. Her and Hannah had most of their lunch periods together and Sam couldn't talk to her about it. But there were two lunch periods where she could talk about it. About how much she hated what she was feeling towards the class president now.

Beth had always listened. They would both talk about their crushes and why it was bothering or whether or not it was going well. That was the only thing they both kept from Hannah.

Beth had actually came out to Sam at one of these lunch periods they shared. Sam had been supportive of course and she had been the only one to know. Beth hadn't got much time to tell anyone else.

She had told Beth that day that Mike was the boy Hannah was crushing on. And the boy that Sam tried her best to hate but she just couldn't bring herself to.

She would try to push him away and that is exactly what she had done when they met. But he just kept coming back to her to talk to her.

"Yeah it sounds like you're crushing on him too."
