Now Or Never

Chapter 10

We arrive, the snow covering everywhere around us. Reggie looked like a little kid in a candy store. Alex picks up some snow and forms it into a snow ball, effortlessly tossing it at Reggie to hit him. He gasps when the snow runs down the back of his shirt. "Ahhh!" He tries to quickly shake it off. I laugh at them and shake my head. I turn to Luke, reaching up to gently fix his beanie on top of his head. He grabs my hands to pull me closer to him. "I was trying to.." He cuts me off by shaking his head at me. I smile softly and nod. The tip of his nose was beginning to turn red from the cold as well as his cheeks turning a a rosy color. It was absolutely adorable. Flynn leads us inside while her parents go down to the guest house to set up. We were staying in a cute log cabin looking building.

"The boys have to stay down that hall and we stay in this one." Flynn points. Her parents made one real rule. No boys and girls could sleep together. I didn't know how Luke was going to survive that one. Luke pouts at me when I let his hand go to walk to my room. Julie and Flynn shared a room right next to mine. I preferred it that way. We spent the remainder of the afternoon unpacking and warming up beside the fireplace. I cover up a bit more, laying my head on Luke's shoulder. "Come on!" Flynn says quickly running outside. Reggie and Julie go to follow her. I smile and stand up, walking outside after them. The sky was lit up with stars and the moon made the snow sparkle. Luke wraps his arms around me, trying to tackle me to the ground. "No! No!" I say, giggling and trying to get out of his arms. We both slip on a patch of ice and fall into the snow together. I grab a handful of snow and shove throw it at Luke. He chuckles softly, grabbing my hands to stop me from throwing more. He easily pins me down.

"That's not nice." He pouts a little. "It's also not nice to throw your girlfriend down in the snow. Where's Alex? He's my favorite now." I say to joke with him. He fake gasps with wide eyes. "Take that back." He mumbles with his signature pout. "Nope." I shake my head and turn my head away from him, still not able to move since he's got me pinned. He keeps my hands pinned with one of his, moving his freehand down to tickle my sides. I begin to laugh and squirm. If I hated anything at all it was being tickled. "Now are you going to take it back?" He says, continuing to tickle me. I nod quickly while trying to calm my laughter. He stops tickling me, a smile on his face. "You're my favorite." I say and look up at him. "You're my favorite." He responds, nodding his head. I smile and reach my hands up to cup his face when he lets them go. I gently pull him down to kiss him softly. He smiles against my lips. I feel the snow beginning to come through my jacket which makes me shiver. I slowly move to sit up. "My ass is freezing." I say, making him chuckle softly. "You're adorable." He stands up and holds his hand out for me. I take it to let him carefully pull me up beside him. Luke reaches behind me to brush the snow off my back.

"Thank you." I say still shivering a little. He nods and rubs my arms gently to try to warm them up. I lean my head on his chest. Our friends had started a full blown snowball war. Alex was a pro at making them while Reggie's favorite thing to do was dodge them. One hit Julie and I knew it was over for Alex. A soft smile makes it way onto my lips. I couldn't believe how happy my life had become. Having Luke in my life as well as the band really helped that. We finish playing outside in the snow while it got later. Everyone returned to their rooms to watch a few DVDs and talk. I easily pull off my jacket since I'm beside the fire and sit next to it. Luke takes his off and sits next to me. I grab a blanket off the couch from behind us and cover us up. He wraps his arm around my shoulder gently. I smile and lean on him, watching the fire.

"I love you." He says quietly beside me. I look at him with a smile on both of our lips. "I love you too." I kiss his cheek softly. He closes his eyes briefly and smiles at me. We get comfy together, the fire and blanket keeping us warm. My eyes grow heavier as I listen to Luke talk a little. I do my best to listen, leaning my head on his shoulder more. He stops talking when he notices I'm starting to fall asleep. He smiles to himself. "Cute.." He wraps his arm around me more. I fully lean into him, my arms wrapping around him. He kisses my forehead before closing his own eyes, getting comfy beside me. He holds me and eventually falls asleep himself.
