Exhausted and tired from my 24 hours straight duty at the hospital, i'm hungry but i badly want to go home to my family.

It's already three months since the last time i saw them and i badly want to see them, this pandemic made me missed my son's birthday and my anniversary.

It was a miracle that i wasn't infected with the virus because most of my colleagues got infected and countless of workers died.

I took a bath and excitedly grabbed my gifts for my family before i could reach my car six ambulance came and the hospital started panicking due to the lack of doctors and nurses.

I want to ignore them and be with my family, for once i wanted to be selfish and just ignore everything ang just go home.

I was about to open my car when someone grab my hand, I turned around and saw a little boy. There's blood all over his shirt and i can already tell he's one of the patients.

"My mom, please help her." he begged while crying.

I looked at the patient and heard their crying in pain. I want to turn around and leave so i can save myself.

My mind was in turmoil but then again my heart won.

I helped with taking care of the patients.

We didn't rest, we tried hard to save lives but who can save ours?

I dropped on my knees when i saw blood on my nose, i am infected with the virus.

My phone rang and saw that it was ny family calling me.

"Daddy! you said you'll go home yesterday."

I tried my best not to cry hearing their voices.

"Sorry baby, i promise I'll be home soon."

"Daddy we miss you! Come home soon."

My tears fell

I want to be with my family, i want to hug and kiss them for the last time.

With the last of my breath i smiled.

"I'm coming home."
