Irl perspective
Caroline had been overthinking hers and Klaus's relationship.
Did she love him? She thought she did.
Klaus was different from the rest of her boyfriend's, he always cared for her even when he tried to kill her friends.
He cared more about her then his own siblings.
He would die for her, he would take all the pain in the world if it meant she didn't have to go through it.
Caroline thought she loved him. It's hard for her to fall in love again after all the trashy relationships she's been in.
Her and Damon.
Her and Alaric.
Her and Tyler.
Her and Matt.
The only good relationships she's had is hers and stefans when they dated and her and Klaus.
Which is really sad since her mom told her not to put up with boys like that.
Her mom always said as a little girl, "People who treat you like that aren't men. Their boys." Which Caroline lived off now.
She missed her mom since her death, but she's just happier she's in a better place.
Of course Caroline missed her, everyday.
But it's a relief that she doesn't have to suffer.
Caroline snapped out of her trance when she heard klaus's soft whisper.
"Hey love I'm here" Caroline smiled and went downstairs to her door, opening it seeing the reformed hybrid.
"Hey, come in." Caroline said softly smiling, she was happy to see her beloved boyfriend.
"You seem happy today. Is there a special occasion?" Klaus smiled wrapping his arms around her waist.
"No. I just missed you." Caroline said smiling, wrapping her arms around Klaus's neck.
Klaus smiled until he felt the change in emotion.
He sensed the sadness in the room and noticed Caroline hadn't let him go.
"Love, is there something bothering you?" Klaus asked softly, caressing her waist with his hand.
Caroline didn't answer, she was lost in thought, she was thinking about her mom.
"Caroline? You can talk to me about whatever. You know that. Whatever is bothering you... I'm here for you." Klaus's words got to her, making her tear up.
"I-I love you" Caroline whispered, Eyes filled with tears, voice heavy with emotion.
Klaus was shocked to hear those 3 words come out of Caroline's mouth.
He loved her too, but he didn't know what to do or say.
Other then the first words that came to his mind.
"I love you too Caroline. Whatever is going it's going to be okay. You'll get through it. We'll get through it." Klaus said pushing Caroline away from him, making her look into his eyes.
"I'm okay. I just got to thinking about my mom... and how she would be so proud of me when I would have told her I found the one." Caroline said a tear falling out of her eyes, her wiping it away quickly.
"You think I'm the one?" Klaus asked, finally realizing how lucky he is to have fought for her for so long and finally having her.
"Yes silly. Your the one I want. Not Tyler. Not Stefan. You." Caroline said bringing Klaus in for a kiss, Klaus kissing back immediately.
He was going to marry her one day. He knew that for a damn fact.
