We walked through the winding paths of Diagon Alley with the hot sun in our faces and a cool summer breeze tickling our skin.
It had reached lunchtime and we were walking past the bustling shops to get to a safe place to try and apparate. We had told Astoria about our upcoming visit to Diagon Alley and she'd insisted that we have lunch with her, her husband and her twin sons, Xander and Corom.
Astoria Greengrass worked at St Mungos along with Draco and Blaise. They all began their training at the same time and they one by one all became qualified Healers. Astoria was the first by 3 months because of her commitment to the job right from the beginning. We didn't see much of her during those first 3 months but we just figured she was busy.
Turns out she had met and exceptionally good-looking and kind coworker but hadn't wanted to tell any of us she was dating anyone because she thought we'd make a big deal out of it (which we did, the second we found out about him.) His name is Elliott Walker and he's a half-blood from the States. He studied at Ilvernmony and lived in Brooklyn for most of his life, until he decided to move to London, after the war, to study Wizard medicine and become a Healer at St Mungos.
He and Astoria had married when she was 26 and he was 25 after 3 years of dating, their sons were born a year before the wedding and got to be in all of their wedding photos.
Astoria Greengrass-Walker now lives on the outskirts of muggle London. Draco gets to see her a lot at work, but apparating with 4 children, with one being only 4 years old, limited how much we could all see her, Elliott and the boys. Portkeys were, of course, an option but they were a difficult magic to produce and took a lot of preparation and effort. We only really used them for necessary occasions.
And when we did use them we were always sure to bring Narcissa along with us- may as well get the most of the portkey.
"Here we go. Not many people around to bother us here." I turned to Draco who had come to an abrupt halt in front of me, and if I hadn't heard him talking I most likely would have crashed straight into his back.
Amara seems to have noticed my alarmed and confused expression because she snorted a little bit and moved her hand over her mouth to hide the smile.
I chuckled and leaned to whisper in her ear, "you didn't see a thing, okay?"
She nodded her head whilst holding her breath to prevent the laughter from spilling out of her mouth. She straightened a bit and tried to maintain her composure (she was like Narcissa in this way.)
"Of course not," she mumbled back. With a grin still evident on her features.
"I'll take Leo and Scorpius for apparating," Narcissa announced as she gripped their hands in a secure grip, to make sure nothing happened to them as she apparated. Before anyone could even argue she had already disappeared with a loud pop.
Draco turned to me and said, "D'you reckon she's kidnapped them?"
I squinted my eyes at the spot where they had stood, ten seconds earlier. "Maybe. I can never tell when it comes to your mother."
He chuckled and grabbed Zoe's shoulder, "let's hope not," he said with a cheeky grin as he disappeared with Zoe.
I turned to Amara and shrugged. "You and me then, I s'pose," I told her before gently taking her upper arm and concentrating on the large house on the outskirts of London with a sparse amount of houses around it. I began to feel a sharp tug in my gut as I felt the world around me spin, my body felt like it was being compressed into a tiny size before it felt like my limbs were stretched so far that they were going to be ripped from my body.
