Chapter Twelve: Confessions

I saw Logan walking up towards me after school and I gave him a small smile. He gave me a small smile in return but I can tell it was forced.

                    "What's wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing. Ready to go?" Logan asked.

I nodded but I couldn't fully drop the subject. For the rest of the ride, I was quiet. I didn't even bother to mess around with the radio.

Arriving at his house, I climbed out and followed Logan into the house.

He unlocked the door and I went inside. It was silent so I assumed that his family were out again.

"So...what ya wanna do?" I asked.

I turned around to see Logan with the saddest look on his face.

                 "What happened?" I asked.

"I saw you with him, Ana. You can stop lying now. I know all about it," Logan answered.

                 "I don't quite understand," I replied.

"I'll spell it out for you. You and Hunter. I knew it since the beginning. But you know what's worse than knowing that? It's that you never bothered to tell me the truth. Why string me along?" Logan said, his voice rising.

"I- I didn't-," I began to say, the tears starting to form.

"Stop. This is hard enough for me as it is. I love you, Ana. I really do. And if you don't, that's fine. But we're done. I'm sorry," Logan said with a sniffle.

"No! Please! I'm done with Hunter! Just believe me! Don't do this to me!" I said, crying by this time.

"I would like you to go," Logan said, cutting me off.

I wiped my tears off of my face before pushing past Logan and slamming the door behind me. From there, I really let the tears flow. I never thought Logan could know. It wasn't like I was gonna never tell him but now wasn't the best time.

All I knew was now Hunter got his wish.

"Ya know... the dance is coming up soon?" Hunter asked.

                  "Uh, yeah. So?" I asked.

A week passed ever since you know what happened and Hunter and I were an official thing now. We were now currently hanging out at my house.

"You wanna go with me? As a date?" Hunter asked.

"Why not? Let's be high school clichés," I answered.

"It's when you use big words like that that make you absolutely adorable," Hunter replied.

"What? Clichés? That's not a big word at all," I said.

"In case you didn't notice, I'm not incredibly smart," Hunter said.

I laughed a little before saying, "I noticed."

Hunter kissed me at that moment and I kissed back softly. Yeah, I was in love. But this love didn't feel the same.
