The music started off soft and gentle as i walked towards the castle, having to pick up my silk skirt from dragging against the snow. I never realized how big the castle really was until was this close. it had windows going up and down each side of the huge building each one a stained glass picture.
thesnowy rooftops hid the black shingles but the snow couldn't hide the dark brownish grey color of thebricks distorted from the years of weathering. I immediately noticed the huge clock on the west portion of the castle connecting it to the halls connected to the other smaller, yet, still very large complex designs of the many different corridors of the palace.
mother told me not to go near the palace had she heard the same music I can when I get close to it? the tune got louder and more intense as I stomped up the icy wooden stairs to get to the darkly stained doors twice the size as me. the doors were extremely heavy and once I had gotten them open a gust of wind sent my curly, light brown hair tied in a dark red ribbon flying into my face. the inside of the castle was beautiful.
the ceilings painted with beautiful designs of clouds made to look like you were looking into the summer atmosphere instead of large snowflakes pelting down from the clouded sky. to the right there was a huge, dramatic staircase unlike the outside of the palace they looked new. the fancily carved railing looking like it had just gotten a fresh coat of paint.
