After many more months of getting whaled on, and having to watch the same happen to my best friends; the beatings weren't daily anymore— only when we refused to demonstrate the Unforgivable Curses on the first years, or each other... which happened nearly everyday ironically enough.

I was bloody miffed the entire second half of the term. I wasn't able to spend the twins' twentieth birthday with them, or even send them an owl; I had to walk to a post box in Hogsmeade to send my letters like a bloody muggle— who knows if they even got em. Bloody annoying.

Fred knew that I would never miss their birthdays if I could help it. Bloody Snape made sure we were all bloody miserable, and he succeeded.

It was 1 May. The Order had been in a tizzy for months about the Voldemort situation and what to do about it. There was a weird feeling in the castle the last few months too, and how could their not be? Snape was being a git, there were rumblings everywhere about Harry spotting's.. the whole thing was a little dodgy.

1st May started out like any other day. We got up, dredged through our bloody dumb classes, the three knights (Seamus, Neville, and me) got walloped.. we yet again refused to torture each other, and we heard even more rumblings that Harry, Ron, and Hermione were spotted getting closer to Hogwarts.

This was good news; we were in close communication with The Order and they had been hearing the rumblings too.

I had gone into Hogsmeade that evening, to drop a letter for Fred and The Order, when I thought I saw Harry, Ron, and Hermione wandering about. I went to wave to them, but that would be bloody stupid. I decided to apparate back to school, instead of walk, as it was much faster.

I appeared back in the dungeons, and began to tell lot what I thought I saw.

"Oi! You lot! C'mere!" I yelled.

"What happened Mary?" Luna asked.

Before I told them, "did anyone do the silencing enchantment today?"

No one answered.

"Bloody hell! Sliencio Hexia!" I said pointing my wand at the ceiling. "Now, there we go! An'way, I just got back from Hogsmeade.. an' I know it sounds mad, but I swore I saw Harry and the lot dodging the shadows..."

"You sure, Mary?" Neville asked.

"Y'know, I'm not... but it had to be. It was too perfect."

"Well maybe it was; they'll be coming soon if so," Seamus added.

I went to lie down as I was bloody exhausted from getting whaled on for nearly two hours straight that morning. Those bloody wankers really hate when we refused to torture first years. Gits.

Within minutes of me lying down, we heard a voice coming from the painting that covered the hole in the wall.
