When I opened my eyes, "LUNA! MER!" I ran to the outstretched arms of two of my best friends.
"Eeeee!" They yelled in excitement when we collided into our group hug. "What're you doing here?!" I asked with excitement.
"Your twin!" Meredith exclaimed pointing to George.
"Georgie!" I said as I ran back to him, and wrapped my legs around his waist. "Thank you SO MUCH! Love you!" I kissed his cheek as he put me down. He smiled that adorable Weasley smile.
"Elizabeth is gutted she couldn' come, but healer schools got her all in a tussle. She sends her love though!" Luna said as I turned back to the two of them.
"Aw, miss her! But I'm so happy you're both here!"
"We brought gifts! Can we give her ours before you do, George?" Meredith asked with a smirk.
"What?! George.. THEY aren't your present for me?" I questioned.
"Ha, course not love! They're just part!" He smiled back.
"Eeee!" We all squealed.
"Lemme go first!" Meredith chirped. "Here Mary! Hope you like it, happy birthday!" I opened a beautifully wrapped box and was gobsmacked by what was inside. It was a miniature replica of the Quidditch Cup Fred and George won with Gryffindor while at school. It was beautiful! Fred and George's names were on the front. I beamed at the thoughtfulness of the gift, and embraced her a in a hug.
"My turn!" Luna spoke up. She handed me a tiny covered cage. I knew what it was.
I hid my smile as I opened it, "a Pygmy Puff! Thank you Luna! He's adorable!" My smile broke though.
"George told me you'd been eyeing them up, and I thought it'd help with Magizoology School too!" She said.
I had decided over the summer that the following summer, I would apply for the Magizoology Program at the Ministry— Newt Scammander was the only known, actually Magizoologist, but I was hoping to change that one day.
"What're you gonna call him?" The girls both asked excitedly.
I had a twinkle in my eye as I looked at my little puff, "don' make fun... Fred."
"Well 'course! We knew that," Luna smiled.
"Thank you both SO much! They're both perfect!" They beamed with pride at their perfect presents.
"Your turn George!" Meredith said. She could hardly contain herself. To say I was confused would be an understatement.
"Mary, cm'here love." George said. He seemed exceptionally nervous, which made me nervous as hell too. "Here you go.." he handed me a small wrapped item and a coffee mug... as I grabbed the coffee mug, he didn't let go and we were suddenly on the rainy streets of London.
The street that was once bustling with life and wizards, was now empty and broken. The only stores that remained were Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, the new pub at the end of the street—Tots 'n Planks, and a partially standing Florish and Botts. The mug was a port key. I looked at him with confusion, "London? Your shop?" He smirked at me, as I looked up ahead.
"Oi Mary!" I heard as two people started to come into view.
It was Neville and Seamus!
I hadn't seen the girls or them, since the funerals, so this meant the world to me and George knew that.
"Ahh! Oh my God!" I exclaimed as I ran to meet my best friends. "Boys!" I jumped into Seamus's body with a force that almost knocked him off his feet.
"Good to see ya Mary!" Neville said as he hugged me around Seamus.
I let go of Seamus to jump into Neville's arms. "I missed you both so much. Oh.. and thank you both SO much for coming to Mum, and Fred's funerals, I don' think I ever thanked you."
"Of course sweetheart, wouldn' miss it." They answered in unison as I beamed up at them.
"Oh! Hang on!" I said as I turned and ran back to George, who was still standing in the street near their shop. "Georgie! Thank you, beyond words! I love you!"
"Anything for you Mary! I love ya too!" He smiled as me picked me up and spun me around in his embrace.
"What's in the wrapping though?" I asked him when he let me down. He was still holding my waist.
"Oh, I nearly forgot! It's a key to our.. erm, my flat. So when you're in London, you don' have to hurry back to the burrow anymore! Help yourself any time," he bent over and kissed the top of my head.
"Thank you, Georgie! That's so nice!" I was elated. "Amazing birthday!"
"I'll be in the shop a wee bit— paperwork, you go'on with them and they'll bring ya back here in a little and we'll head back to the burrow! Oh & Mary.." He said. He waved his wand and I was wearing much warmer clothes. I reached up and kissed his cheek. He blushed a twinge before letting go of my waist.
It was nearly time for lunch, and I hadn't eaten yet. George went into the shop, and Seamus and Neville walked me to the pub at the end of the street.
