Driving back into civilization was like the most refreshing breath of fresh air ever. I drove to the precinct to let everyone know that I was okay. When I got there I parked in my usual spot and sprinted inside. "Tim." I whispered his name just loud enough for him to hear me and he whirled around and when he saw me he wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tightly. I sobbed into his chest and he just held me there and let me cry. "Hey, you're safe now. I got you. Breathe Boot." He whispered in my ear. "What did he do to you Boot?" "H-He t-ta-tat-tattooed my date of death on my hip. That's all I remember." "Do you need to go to the hospital and get yourself checked out?" "No I don't think so. Can you just take me home?" "Of course. I'm going to stop by my house and grab my go bag on the way there okay? We need to tell everyone that you're okay before we leave though." "Okay. Can we go talk to Grey first?" "Of course we can." He took my hand and we walked to the C.O.'s office. When we walked in Grey looked up and was surprised to see me there. "Lucy, you're okay." " I escaped. He's going to keep trying to finish the job until you find him. Tim were you able to trace the phone call I made to you?" "Yeah. I have the approximate location of the house he was keeping her in." "I have his phone and his car is in the parking lot where I parked it." "Can I take her home? She doesn't want to go to the hospital so I'll take her home and look after her." "You take her to your house Bradford. I'm going to get a safe house set up so I can place the two of you in it until we catch Caleb Wright. I'll tell the others only what they need to know. It's for their safety and yours." "So you expect us to sit back and do nothing to find this guy that tattooed the date he was going to kill her into her skin? We have to do something. I know my Boot she won't just sit back and do nothing." "Well there's not much you two can do. You already found the location of the house he was keeping it her at and she escaped. All I want you two to do is take care of each other. You're going to have nightmares and panic attacks Lucy, but you've got Tim to lean on. Now go get your stuff out of your locker and grab some clothes from your houses together. You go into both of your houses together so neither of you is in the car or house alone. You're going to drive an unmarked SUV provided by the department so neither of your license plates can be traced back to you while you're both in the safe house. The kitchen is being stocked with everything your little hearts could possibly desire and toiletries have been stocked as well and yes there are tampons and pads in the bathroom closet. Now there was a small like we're talking tiny snag, when we set up the safe house we didn't realize it but there's only one bedroom and only one bed and only one bathroom. We're going to give you both radios. They along with the one I have and the one I'm giving to Grace will be on channel 6. That way you have a doctor for medical emergencies and I'll know everything that's happening to the both of you. As soon as you are done talking to Grace or me switch your radios over to a random channel and turn them off and remove the antenna after you use it every time. And Tim she's going to need you to get through everything she went through." "She is right here and that is true I will need you since I won't have Jackson." "I got you Boot. I promise. Come on let's get you to the safe house so you can rest and I can check you for any other injuries." We walked out through the garage and found a black SUV waiting to take us to our houses and then to the safe house. We got into the back seat and put our seat belts on. We were halfway to my house when Tim whispered, "Lucy, I'm so proud of you for fighting so hard. You are one hell of a cop and I'm so proud of you." I looked up at him and whispered, "You taught me how to be the cop that I am today. I wouldn't have escaped if you hadn't drilled cop eyes into my head. I want to be just as great a cop as you are Tim." "Boot, you already are as good a cop as I am. Maybe even better. You don't know how afraid I was that I was going to lose you today." "Well I know how scared I was that I would never see you or hear you or talk to you again." "I'm doing a background check on every guy that asks you out from now on." "I actually think that's a good idea but I'm not going to be going on any dates for a while." When I said that he almost looked sad. I laid my head on his shoulder and we rode the rest of the way to my house like that. When we got there he and I went in and I went to my room and got a suitcase and filled it with my clothes and my shampoo and razor and everything else I wanted to bring from home. I was about ready to go when I spotted something on my dresser out of the corner of my eye. It was an old t shirt of Tim's that he had loaned me when I slept on his couch for a few days after I got out of the hospital when I was shot. I grabbed it and a piece of paper fluttered to floor. I picked it up and it was a note. "Lucy, you should have this shirt. It looks better on you than me anyway. - Tim"
A/N: Finally finished the 2nd chapter but it probable sucks because I'm having a hard time with these two. I may end up completely rewriting this story or discontinuing it and starting over. I can't wait for January 3rd! It's gonna be amazing!
