The day after the battle at Me Linh, Aurbis went to Mizami and Izami. They were both within their private realm, higher than even the other realms of the Gods. They sat upon clouds, surrounded by starry skies. The two Gods sat across from each other, eyes closed, as if they were meditating. They both had an arm stretched out with an open hand. Above their hands floated a black orb. Aurbis approached them and then bowed.
"Mother. Father. I ask that you please forgive my recent transgression," he said.
The two Gods opened their eyes and gently pulled their hands away, the black ball remaining. Mizami then took out her fan and opened it, covering her face while Izami lifted his staff.
"Yes," began Mizami "We know of the recent situation. Saytarus informed us before you arrived."
"Most disappointing, my son," said Izami.
"Yes. I apologize. There was an opportunity to take Illya, however, I let her go. I stopped the attack on the mortal city of Me Linh. I believed that further action there would inspire the mortals to take more preemptive measures against us. Unfortunately, it required letting her go. I will accept any punishment you deem necessary," said Aurbis.
"Punishment for this one failure is unnecessary. Your father and I's patience is eternal. We will wait as long as necessary so long as it happens."
"We are still formulating the Rebirth even now," said Izami.
"If I may ask, why did you choose me to lead this?" Aurbis asked.
"We chose you because you have always been the levelheaded one. You and Re both think before you act," said Izami.
"To create this Triumvirate, we gave you Saytarus and Xuhyir. The unpredictability of Saytarus either in a battle or in a plan can surprise the enemy. However, he is difficult to control due to this. Xuhyir is a hunter and tracker, dead set on finding out his prey. However, his sportsmanship prevents him from seeing the larger picture. You are the one capable of using the benefits of both in a manner efficient enough," said Mizami.
Aurbis quietly listened to the words of his parents.
"We both know you are thinking this and we will answer your question. We do not believe you a traitor," said Izami.
Aurbis gasped upon hearing this.
"Yes. We know the choice you will make in the end," said Mizami.
"I understand. Thank you for your mercy. Mother. Father." Aurbis said standing and giving a bow.
The day after Aurbis met with Izami and Mizami, he went to visit Re. By now, the Goddess and her children were moved into a recreation of their home. The mansion was a perfect replica. However, they could not leave past the gate. The day was shifting into night. Re was sitting on her bed, brushing Skylah's hair when Aurbis stepped into the room. She looked at her brother and then immediately turned away. Skylah held on to her mother, not wanting to face her uncle. Aurbis observed the two of them. He felt something in him. He lowered his head.
"Aurbis, what are you doing here?" Re asked.
"I thought I would come by for a visit," he replied.
Re continued to brush her daughter's hair.
"If you have come to apologize, I will not accept it," she said.
"I have not come seeking an apology sister. I only wish to talk. There has been a question I have been meaning to ask for a long time."
Re sighed.
"What is it?" she asked.
"Why did you side with Tomoe Gozen?"
