Draco's POV (Thursday)

I wake up to Harry shaking gently shaking me awake. I grumble in response, trying to swat his hand away. I am still so tired from the night before and my body is just not ready to wake up yet.

"Come on Draco, we gotta go to breakfast," Harry chuckles in a slightly somber way.

I can still hear the sadness in his voice from the night before. All my worries flood back into my mind at once, making it impossible to feel tired anymore. I sit up in bed and look over to Harry, who was currently putting on a shirt. The muscles in his back ripple, making my mind drool, but I don't dare touch him. He is conflicted about something and, if that something is me, I don't wanna push my chances.

I begin getting dressed for the day as well while simultaneously trying to push my anxiety to the back of my mind. Harry doesn't say one thing the whole morning so neither do I. Once we are both ready, we make our way out the door and down the corridors to the breakfast hall. We are just about to enter when a call comes from behind us,

"Harry, wait!"

I recognize the voice almost immediately and so does Harry judging by the way his face pales. It is Ginny. We both turn around to see the red-haired girl running towards us, a big grin plastered across her face.

"Hey, thanks for waiting up! It feels like forever since I last saw you" Ginny states sweetly.

"Oh yea, I guess it has been a while," Harry responds awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand.

I look back and forth between the two, trying to figure out where this was going. They exchange a few more pleasantries before Ginny realizes I am standing there. She looks at me with hesitation, not really sure of what to say. Not wanting this awkward exchange to go on for any longer, I decide to talk first.

"Hello Ginny, it is nice to see you again" I state rather blatantly, not putting much emotion behind my words.

Although I know Ginny is as deserving of respect as any other one of Potters' friends, I still hold a lot of contempt against her. This is specifically due to the romantic relationship she and Potter shared, or share. Considering I have had a crush on him for quite some time, it would make sense I would come to resent her over the years.

"Yes, it is nice to see you again too Malfoy" she replies back, still not quite sure of how she should feel.

There are a couple of moments of awkward silence before Ginny perks up again,

"Well, since we are all together, how about I join you at the 8th year table for breakfast today?"

The thought made me almost physically recoil, but I am able to prevent myself from doing so.

Potter responds after a couple of moments, still sounding awkward, "Oh yes, that is a great idea"

I want to slam my head into the nearest stone column after hearing his response. This was going to be miserable. Then again, the conversations they will share may explain why Potter was acting the way he was. If Ginny and him were still dating, it would explain a lot about his sheepish mood.

We all begin to make our way to the 8th year table. Only a couple of moments after we sit down do Ron and Hermoine arrive. Blase and Pansy are nowhere to be seen, but no matter. I have bigger fish to fry at the moment.

As expected, Hermoine and Ron joyfully greet Ginny. There is a lot of talking and laughter that follows, but nothing that gives me a scoop on her and Harry's romantic life. Harry is rather silent the whole conversation, only chipping in here and there. He still holds the same mood as before, but now it seems to be coupled with some anxiety. He is definitely not comfortable with her being here.

Finally, Hermoine brings up the question I was hoping someone would ask,

"So, how are you and Harry doing?"

I can feel Harry's hand tense at the question. Expectantly, the response to the question comes from Ginny, not Harry.

"Oh, we took a bit of a break, but I think things are going to start getting better now."

Ginny looks at Harry and gives him a warm smile. Harry smiles and nods tensely in response.

I can't help but verbally scoff. Well f***, this explains a lot. No wonder Harry was acting so strange, he is still eloping with the red-haired weasel girl. I can't believe I ever trusted him in the first place. Merlin, I really am gullible, aren't I?

Unfortunately, my scoff was quickly acknowledged by Ginny and it didn't take long for her mood to turn sour.

"What? Do you have something to say Malfoy?"

At this point, my blood is boiling, so my response shoots out of my mouth before I can stop it,

"Oh no, nothing at all. I was just thinking about all the girls that have been flirting with Harry and how disappointed they will be to hear the news that you two are back together."

"What?!" Ginny hisses, "What girls?!"

I put on a look of fake surprise before replying,

"Oh? You don't know. Harry has been practically swimming in girls since the war, it is actually quite impressive."

At this point, Ginny's face is about as red as her hair, and she sounds livid,

"Excuse me!? Harry, is this true?!"

Harry's eyes are about as wide as dinner plates now and his shock causes him to be unable to formulate a convincing response to her accusation.

Before he can get a word out, Ginny slams her utensils down in fury and storms out of the dining hall without uttering a word.

I bask in victory for a couple of moments before Harry turns on me. He stands up quickly, dragging me up with him, before screaming,

"What the f*** was that for!? You know that's not true, why would you say that!?"

With anger raging through my veins, I bellow in response, "You know why!"

There is a couple of seconds of silence between us. The entire dining hall is silent, staring wide-eyed at us. It looks like Harry is gonna respond for just a moment but instead he just deflates. His shoulders sag and he shakes his head in defeat.

"Let's just go" he mumbles.

He begins to make his way out of the hall, taking me with him. Regret starts to grow in my gut as it dawns on me what I have just done. Oh Merlin, this isn't good.
