I was running around the hospital, trying to get as much work done as possible, cleaning and wiping down areas, by the time I was finished I was exhausted, "Oh my goodness," I knelt down in front of the tent, "I'm home mum," I looked like a mess, I went in and turned on the battery powered light, "I'll go wash my face, it should wake me up." I crawl back out, I blinked as I saw Yuki and Shigure, we were all silent and we stared at each other, Shigure burst out laughing, "This isn't funny." Yuki slaps him, we all went back to Shigure's house, "I thought it was strange, the Sohma's own all the land in this area," Yuki looks at me, I clench my fists, "Will it be okay, if I live there for a little while longer? As soon as my grandpa's renovations are over, I promise I'll get out of here. Please, I don't have a lot of extra money but I'll pay." I look down, "Wow... I've never seen her so vulnerable, she's always so headstrong." I heard Yuki murmur, I shut my eyes tight, "It's not a safe place, the cliffs aren't very stable and I shouldn't have to mention but a young girl shouldn't sleep outside in a tent for months." Shigure says, "No! It's fine, I have the strength ad willpower to see this through, I'll-!!" I started flopping back down, "Yuki!" Yuki ran over to my side and put his hand on my forehead, "She's got a fever, "I'll go grab some ice, but getting to it should take a while." Shigure slid open the kitchen door, it was filled with junk and unorganised rubbish, "How do you live here..." I sweatdrop and stand up, "We manage!" Shigure smiles and points his finger up, we heard a wolf howl, "See, what did I say, part of the cliff just crumbled," He touches his chin, "What? It did? But how can you tell?" I cock my head, "Oh, I like to call it my animal instinct." He grins, "Enough joking, do you know what part of the cliff collapsed?" Yuki grabbed the medical box, "Well, knock on wood, hopefully it didn't collapse on my tent!" I knocked on the table and sweat nervously, "Surely not!" Shigure and I laugh uneasily.
"MY TENT!" I freak out when we got to the collapsed area, "Wait. Mum!" I run forward and try to shovel as much dirt out, "She's still under there!" I was covered in dirt, I felt Shigure's hand on top of mine, "Let's come back when it's light, I'm sure your mum wouldn't want you to get hurt." He says, I had tears pooling in my eyes. "I'm sorry, it looks like I've lost my home again," I laid down on the futon in one of Shigure's spare rooms, "It must be tough." He sits down, "I mean I wish it didn't happen, but I've been though worse." I brought the blanket to my nose, "Like what?" Shigure asks, "I wish, I just wish I could've said see you when you get back. That was the day my mum died, that was the only morning I didn't say it. I just wish I said those six words, lately I've been thinking about quitting school, getting a full time job, but I remember my mum's dream was for me to experience the life she never had once she left in middle school, she wanted me to experience high school in its entirety. I miss her, I miss her a lot." I felt my voice crack, before I knew it, I fell asleep without realising it.
I woke up and felt tear stains on the side of my face, I jolted up, "I don't have time to sleep! I've got to dig mum out!" I jumped out of the futon, I saw Yuki walking over, "Did you have a nice rest? Here, I've already dug your belongings and the picture of your mum out for you." He hands it to me, I felt tears pool, "But how did you do it?" I ask, "I can't tell you." He smiles and steps onto the porch, "I'll just bring your things upstairs, I know this house is a mess, but there's a room upstairs, you can stay here until the renovations at your grandfather's is done." He turns around, it finally sunk it, "I can't do that!" I freak out, "All bedroom doors have locks on them," He says, "No that's not the point!" I shake my head side to side, "Do you enjoy doing chores, cooking and cleaning?" Shigure pops up, "I guess I don't hate it." I nod, he stares at me, "Wonderful!! Welcome home!" He fans his face, "Your room needs to be aired out and I'll give you a copy of the house key," Shigure walks off, "No, no, I can't. I'll be a burden." I say, "Is the Cold Princess finally showing her warm side?" Yuki looks down at me, I blushed, "No." I huff and follow him up the stairs.
