He hugged me and he collapsed in exhaustion, my eyes widen, "Kyo?" I look at his body, he slowly opens one eye, "The curse... it's broken." He hugs me and pulls me down into his chest, I smiled and snuggled in closer, "I love you Kyo, every bit of you. Even that fiery temper." I giggled and looked up, he smiled and kissed my forehead, the rain kept coming down but we didn't care, we held each other close and we felt warm as ever. After a few hours, we finally walked back home, everyone else was asleep, Kyo dragged me into his room, "Please. Just for tonight." He whispered as he went under his blankets, "We can do any night." I wrapped my legs around his and we fell asleep.
The next morning I woke up, Kyo was still fast asleep, I brushed his bangs lightly with my finger, his throat still purred, "You're still my little kitty," I kissed his lips lightly and got up. Kazuma was heading back to the estate, "Oh, I'd love to walk you back." I stand up as I finish washing up, "That'd be lovely," He smiles, I dry my hands, we were walking down the mountain, "Um... should you say something to Kyo first?" I ask, he smiles, "I don't know what to say. I originally took Kyo as in atonement. My grandfather was possessed by the cat spirit like Kyo. He was cast out by his immediate family and our extended family slandered him. He was treated horribly, by me as well. I only met my grandfather once, even though he was a kind man who forgave me with a smile. Years went by and my objective look at Kyo's environment made me painfully aware of the absurdity and cruelty of it all, I may have wanted to rid myself of the guilt by taking him in. However, before I knew it, I loved him. I felt as if I were his father. I ignored his wishes when I took his rosary and forced my own feelings onto him, that's why I don't know what to say to him. It would be too arrogant of me to say 'good for you' after selfishly putting my feelings before his, and all I did was create this opportunity. You're the one who saved Kyo, because you were there for him, you were able to open his heart." He smiles, "Kazuma, was that really selfish of you? Even though you say so I feel warm inside. I'm not sure how you think of it but right now, you really do seem like a father in my eyes." I smile up at him, "Master!" We turn around and saw Kyo panting, "Oh, hello." I look at him, "Why did you leave without telling me!" He leaps forward and swung a punch at him, Kazuma avoided and kept deflecting his attacks, "Why'd you do it! It's like you're running away!" Kyo shouts, Kazuma flipped around and slapped Kyo's cheek, his eyes widen, "Kyo! Holy crap!" I grab his shoulders and look at his face, "Did you... did you think I'd be mad at you? Are you sick of me? I'm sorry for causing you nothing but trouble, it was childish of me to say I wanted to go back to the dojo and use you as a place to run away, I'm sorry but even though I know I'm not good enough yet one day... one day I'll be independent, I won't hurt you or be a burden to you anymore. I'll be... I'll be worthy of calling you my dad! That's the kind of man I'm gonna be!" Kyo launches forward and punches Kazuma's hand, Kazuma's eyes soften and he cups Kyo's hand, they stare at each other but was bluntly interrupted by Kyo flying back, "Oh my Gosh!" I freak out and run over to him, "You're not there yet. Kyo, my son, you're not done causing me trouble." Kazuma smiles, "So what? You shouldn't have knocked me down!" Kyo stands back up and walks to him, "If you couldn't have blocked that maybe you've gotten weaker." Kazuma puts his hand on Kyo's head, the two of them laughed and smiled, my eyes soften, "Yuki, did you see that. See! Just like I said, right? My Master's so strong!" He grins, I smiled, "Mind if I try to give a few kicks?" I inch over, Kazuma seemed shocked and confused for a moment but he agreed, we both squared up, "Master, don't hurt her, seriously." Kyo leans back on a pillar, "Don't worry, I won't hurt your girlfriend." He says, Kyo blushed bright red, "H-H-How'd you know! Shut up." He huffs, both of us laughed, he fired his first punch, I ducked straight down and kicked him with my signature move, his eyes widen and he was on the ground, "Guess I played dirty, sorry. I guess the girl can leave the gang but the gang doesn't leave the girl." I smile and hold my hand out, he was frozen in his spot, Kyo's jaw was on the ground, "I guess I've got some training to do too then. Sensei." Kazuma grabs my hand and looks at me, I laughed, "I'm no sensei, it was an honour to fight you." I bowed, he smiled and bowed back.
Later that morning, I prepared breakfast and we were ready to head to school, Yuki left first as he had student council duties, Kyo and I were walking to school together, he had his arm around my neck, "You really are taking advantage of this curse being broken aren't you?" I hugged his chest from the side as we kept walking, he takes a breath in, "Now I finally get to hold you in my arms without turning into a cat, of course." He strokes my hair, a cat meowed at his feet, "At least you still attract cats, that's a bonus and I'm happy that that trait stuck, same as your purring." I graze my finger under his chin and his erupted into purrs, he blushed in embarrassment, "It's embarrassing," He covers his face, "It's adorable," I go on my tip toes and kiss him, he quickly kisses back. We arrive to school and we take our shoes off, "Fox!" I turn and saw Uo, "Kiki!" Tohru bounces over, "Good morning," Hana says softly, I smiled, "Hey guys," I grinned, the three of them stare at my arm, "What happened?" They saw blood seeping through the bandages, "This really adorable creature scratched me is all, I didn't see it properly so I don't know what it was but I disinfected it so it's fine. Thanks for worrying though." I smiled, "Adorable? With those claw marks, find it hard to believe." Uo furrows her brows, "Don't overthink it," I knock her head, "I need to head to the first year corridors, do you want to come with?" I ask, they nodded, "I'll see you when we come back to the classroom, I want to find Momiji and Haru." I look at Kyo, he smiles and nods, walking off, "What's with carrots? He seemed to have mellowed out?" Uo cocks her head, Hana nods, "His waves also seemed to have calmed down." She touches her chin, "Let's just be thankful that we're all happy then!" Tohru claps her hands, I hooked my arms around them, "Let's go!" I punched my fist up into the air.
I ran into the classroom, "Yuki!" Momiji lights up, all the students look at me and blush, "Come here!" I run up to Haru and Momiji, giving them the biggest hug, their eyes widen and were about to push me off, "What the..." They look at me, "Finally!" I felt tears prickle as Momiji and Haru stared blankly, "I didn't transform?" Haru looks at his hands, "Kyo did it... he finally did it..." Momiji had tears pooling, "Oh HELL YEAH!" Haru picks me up by my waist and throws me up in the air, I laughed, everyone just stared blankly, what were we talking about, "Who else knows?" Haru asks, "Just you three, and Kazuma. Even Yuki doesn't know yet, I'm planning on keeping it a secret, it'll be a surprise." I look down at the floor, "But still... in some ways it feels wrong, I know Kagura still loves Kyo so." I sit on his desk, "So what about her? You deserve happiness too, you're always so selfless, and give away everything you have. You deserve to have something to call your own, even if it's that stupid cat." Haru went back to a space cadet, "Thank you Yuki, thank you, thank you!" Momiji wraps his arms around me and cries, I sniffed, "Stop it Momiji, or I'll cry." I wiped my damp eyes.
That night, Shigure invited everyone over to stay, "Hatori, Momiji, Haru, Kisa, Kagura, Ayame, Ritsu!" I stood up, "Hiro will come by later, he had to meet up with someone first." Kisa hugs me, I pet her head and nod, "Now that you mention it, where is Gure?" Momiji cocks his head, "He had business at the estate, he won't be home today." Hatori nods, "Kyo~!" Kagura hugs him tight, I smiled, "It's almost Summer, I think we should stay here everyday once it's the holidays!" Momiji raises his arms up, "I fully agree with that!" Kagura rubs her cheek against Kyo's, he grumbled and tried to push her away, "Stop it Kagura!" He scrambled out of her grasp and wrapped his arms around my waist and used me as a shield, "Kyo...!" Her eyes gleamed red and she winded her arm and punched him into the koi pond, we all sweat drop, and everyone gasped, "That's why I invited you all over," I smiled, I jumped up and hugged everyone, no one transformed, "Kyo... he... he broke the curse." Hatori's eyes widen, everyone was silent, Kagura looked down, "I hope you two will have a very happy relationship," Kagura held my hands, my heart ached, "Thank you Kagura." I hug her tight, she cried, I furrow my eyebrows and hug her tighter.
