"I'll think I'll stay a bit, I still need to sneak a peek at the celebrations," Shigure says, the four of us walk out, "And I've got a dance rehearsal to get to!" Momiji says, "Dance?" I ask, "Yes, it's a sort of ritual we do between the Sohma's. Now, Hatori, behave yourself with Yuki alright." Shigure looks at him, "Let's go," He walks off, "O-Oh," I jog after him, "See you later!" Momiji waves, "Oh bye!" I spin around and wave.
"So it is true you're best friends with the dog?" I ask to try and bring up conversation, "That mutt?" He seemed to pale, "W-Well I mean that's what Momiji said! I mean but maybe he's wrong," I quickly take it back, "I'm stuck with him is all." He says, I look up at the sky, "Hey watch your step," He says, "Huh?" I look at him, I slipped on a stair, "Watch out!" He catches me, there was a poof of purple, "I'm so sorry Hatori! Are you oka- Ahh!" I look at the pile of clothes and see a seahorse, "WHAT DO I DO?!" I freak out, "It's not like Kyo, I can't just pick him up!" I wrack my brain, "Water! Water! Oh wait crap! Saltwater or freshwater!" I quickly bundle up his clothes and run to a bench and I placed his coat on top of the sea dragon.
"Hatori! Hatori! Are you okay?!" I saw him open his eyes, "It's a little cold," He says, "C-careful! You're naked..." He sits up, his coat barely covering his bottom half, I quickly turn around, "So you saw, you saw my zodiac form," He sighs and puts his hand over my head, "Um yeah?" I nod, "It's not weird or anything! It's a... a surprise! Yeah a surprise!" I try to make him feel better, "Oh your shoes! I'll go grab them, they're probably still by the stairs," I run off, I skidded back, "So you're getting married next year, how exciting!" I saw a group of three women, my eyes widen, "Kana," I whisper, "Thanks Maiko," She smiles, "Well, what's the lucky man like~?" Her friend asks, "Well whenever I'm with him, my heart feels calm but I will say, his face isn't quite as handsome as Hatori's though." She giggles, "Don't say that!" Maiko nudges her, "Give me a break, he was the man of my dreams, even if he never felt the same, I wish I could've gotten to tell him hi when I was visiting," They walked over the bridge, "Two years after I last saw her, and she's smiling like I did back then, so, she found happiness. I'm glad, so glad. Congratulations." He smiles, I felt tears prickle, "You still love her don't you." I watch the three women, I take a deep breath in, "Come on," I grab his hands and pull him up, his eyes widen, "Let's head back," I place his shoes down, "Wow!" I run over to the edge, "It's snowing! No wonder you thought it was cold before," I turn around and smile, "Hatori? You look sad?" I look at him, "I'm fine, tell me, what do you suppose comes of snow when it melts?" He asks, "Easy, Spring! No matter how much snow we need to plough out or endure the crappy temperatures, Spring will come again," I giggled, "That's a way to describe it." He chuckles.
"Thanks for walking me to the gate, I really appreciate it," I bow, "Sorry about the incident." He says, "You're still here? Slow pokes." We heard Shigure's voice, "No way you've stuck around this long." I look at him, "Now doctor, you haven't been behaving improperly have you?" He walks over, "Geez, you're so mean, he didn't do anything." I sigh, "So cruel, you're freezing my heart," He clutches his chest, "I'll see ya later." Hatori walks off, "Thanks for inviting me today." I wave, he doesn't turn around but raises a hand, "Poor Yuki, it was rude of him to summon you here like that, but he's not as much of a jerk as he seems. Well come on, let's head home, all this New Year's shenanigans has made me famished." Shigure starts walking home, I saw a car pull around the bend, I saw a boy in the car as it drove past, we made eye contact but it drove away as fast as it came, "Speaking of, what are we having for dinner?" He asks, "Shigure, will you tell me, about the curse? Sorry, it's just I feel like I should be doing something to help." I say, "And you are, by being yourself, but for now, I don't think I should be telling you about anything more. I'm sorry." He turns around, I nod and we walk back home. "I guess it's true, even the kotatsu can put the fiercest demons to sleep," I smile as I saw the two boys asleep under the table, "Wake up sleepyheads~!" Shigure sings, the boys groan as they wake up
