Chapter 17: Calvary Battle and Break

Izuku's PoV

It was time for the battle to begin. Thats when I noticed that everyone was kinda looking at me. Oh boy.

We start to run across the outer edges if the field dodging people and hands that come our way. A few minutes in and in and Kacchan attacked us we managed to dodge and went on our way. This kept going on until a large wall of ice blocks our path. We turn to see to Todoroki's team coming at us

He attepts to take our headband but dark shadow stops him. Only for Kaminari to release electricity. With dark shadow weakend by the attack we try to make a run for it but forced to dodge Iida's special attack so we take to the skimy's thanks to Hatsumei's gear. Kacchan takes off after us only to be blocked by a blaster shield but he redirects and lands a hit on my right arm Mei manages to knock him back. Once we land we start running again. We thankfully run out of time and the calvary battle is over securing us four places in the turney.
"Your plan worked out amazing Midoriya"
"Thanks Tokoyami"
"You did great Deku"
"I think you mean to say WE did amazing" I correct her
"Really"
"Of course everyone had a piece to play in victory"
"Alright Everyone here are the 16 students that will be moving up"
There was a bit of a disagreement and then some things where changed and now

"Alright with that now done we will take an hour long break to recuperate and eat lunch" Midnight continues
As I we were heading out Todoroki came up to us.
"Midoriya can I talk to you in private"
"Yeah ok"
We walk to one of the entrance halls where noone was
"Midoriya you stated that using only half my power was a poor descision"
"And I stand by that"
"Then let me tell you why"
"Ok"
"Do you know what quirk marriages are"
"The haynus act of marrying someone just to combine two powerful quirks a practice that was made illegal shortly after the first generation quirk users"

"Correct again he basically bought my mother from her family because she had an ice quirk, he brutally trained me since the day I could walk"

I start to walk away
"Even so I will beat the Sports festival with my Ice"
Once at the lunch room I sit next to Ochako
"What took you Deku"
"Oh you know he wanted to make sure that I took his declaration seriously"

As we ate we continued talking about the next stage of the festival
"Im so pumped for the 1 v 1 matches"
"Yeah it'll be the greatest"
"I wonder who we will be paired with in the first rounds"

After lunch we all headed back to the stadium for the reveal, on our way we split with our classmates that didnt make the cut as they went to the 1-A seating area then the rest of us started heading down to the field I stop to take a quick drink from the water fountain then Endeavor himself walks up to me.
"Can I help you" I ask
"Make sure to not hold back against Shoto and make him use my fire to bring my legacy to fruition"
"No"
"Excuse me boy"
"I said no I won't make him use HIS fire because you want me to, Im going to make him use it because if he doesnt when he's a hero people could die" I turn and walk off I cab feel the heat rising a bit.
Once I get to the field Ochako notices Im back
"Deku what took so long"
"Sorry I was thirsty"
"Ok" something tells me she doesnt believe me for either lie
"ALL RIGHT SPORTS FANS WE ARE BACK FOR THE FINAL EVENT OF THE SPROTS FESTIVAL THE 1 ON 1 BATTLE TOURNAMENT" midnight says
"YEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHHH"
"Mic stop your giving me a headache"
"Stop exadurating Eraser"
"Im not"
"IN ANYCASE LETS GET ON TO THE BATTLE MATCHES BUT FIRST THETS GO OVER HOW THIS IS DONE WE WILL HAVE 8 PRELIMINARY MATCHES THEN 4 MATCHES, THEN THE 2 SEMI-FINAL ROUNDS, AND THEN OF COURSE THE FINAL BATTLE. TI WIN YOU NEED TO EITHER INCAPACITATE YOUR OPPONENT KO THEM OR PUSH THEM OUT OF BOUNDS" yells Midnight into the microphone.
