Introduction

"There's no way in hell I would ever let myself fall in love again, especially with a guy like you!"

Macyn Brookes has never really believed in love- Never had a boyfriend in her life, the guys just never really seemed to pay attention to her. She tried, and she had a few guy friends, but nothing to get excited over.

She turned into a  pretty introverted type of girl, but she can surprise people with her sarcasm and witty comebacks when need be.

Macyn also has a love for music. Her dream: to be somebody. Only when she would sing, dance, or play an instrument did she truly feel herself.

Although she has pretty much no love-life, she likes to think of her everyday life as pretty normal. That is, until a certain party at the beach, which she is dragged to by her best friend, Brinley Foster.

What could possibly so exciting about seeing drunken, vulnerable, desperate girls dancing and grinding with drunken, idiotic, lusting guys?

Well, as it turns out, an old familiar face comes back to town after a long trip that was believed to be some rebellious touring act.

Ryder Lee, the guy every girl wanted, has returned. 

Macyn, even though she had a huge crush on him at one point, finds this to be no big deal at all.

This time, though, He's brought back a secret only very few people know the true story about.

Ryder isn't your average bad boy. Sure, he is what most people would call "Badass" as well as a history of  being a pig-headed jerk, but he has a soft spot in him as well: music.

He loves anything that has to do with music, especially sing; One thing that takes Macyn by surprise as she realizes they may have a lot more in common than she thought.

But because of past circumstances, she refuses to fall for him for any reason.

Even though she has a set resentment towards him, Ryder can't help but become fascinated over this girl that he can't believe he's never remembered seeing in school before!

So now he is determined- in a bit of a jerkish/gentleman type of way (as only a bad boy can be)- to win the heart of the girl he never realized he was looking for.

Will Macyn let her guard down enough to finally let love in, or has she become too hardened to the fear of getting hurt and let down after all this time?

Will Ryder be able to break the barrier between him and Macyn, or will he end up feeling empty and alone, with only his past to keep him company?
