I had just finished eating the sandwiches I had packed and I knew that the next stop was Pinewood so I got up and took out my bags from the overhead compartment and got ready to get off. I got off, thanked the bus driver and turned around in a circle after the bus left. Seemed like a pretty town, a bit dull like it's going to rain but it was not bad. I passed by many shops and a movie house. I slowed down when I seen a poster ad. for a vacancy at a club for a singer so I took it off, folded it and put it inside my bag. I continued walking till I passed a few houses and seen one a little away from the rest on a hill. I double checked my mom's dairy for the address and after waiting a minute at the gate I pushed it open and walked up to the front door and knocked.

A woman dressed in a blouse and faded jeans with an apron on top answered the door. She smiled at me before looking at what I was wearing and her expression changed into confusion but she politely asked, Hey, How may I help you??? I took a breath and asked "Are you Miss Haley???"

She frowned and said "Yes. And you are???..."

"I'm your late sister, Melinda's daughter" I said and hoped that I would be accepted by her then I would finally know what a family is and I could almost hear my heart beating faster as I waited for her to say or do something.

The next second I find myself in a really tight hug while she said " Oh my god!!!" , then she released me looked me up and down again and was going to say something else when she stopped herself after looking at my bags and then her expression became serious, she then said " Wait umm... How do you know who I am cause' Melinda never told anyone about having a sister besides you were too small, not even your father knows about me??? And how do I know you are who you say??? I only ever seen you - that is if you are really Mel's daughter- when you were a baby??? And even if you are what are you doing here??? That too with your bags.. !?! Oh no Please don't tell me you ran away??? Did you???... And..."

I cut her rant there. I would have earlier but I was busy being amused at her hyperventilating because all my life the people around me were very composed 24x7 and I was trained to be so myself. I was trained to have no emotion or if I did I was not to show it in front of any body as it could be used as weakness if we were caught while hunting. Any ways back to the present.

"I'm sorry I came here without any notice but I did not know how to contact you and I was running out of time. Plus I didn't know what to expect from you and I didn't want to chicken out so I just came. And I found out about you from this" , I said handing her my mom's dairy " I found it when I was looking through the attic and here is my passport" , I gave her my passport that I had dug out of my hand bag while I was talking to her. "I know this is a lot to take in but I don't really have any other proof because after mom died s- (I almost said sir out of habit but then changed it to dad because I never really wanted to get into that topic of why I call my dad sir right now) dad never really took pictures of me growing up".

She chuckled at that so I knew she wasn't as suspicious of me anymore but then she nodded towards my luggage asking me to continue but this time she was half-smiling at me, " But I did run away and I promise you I did- I mean do have a valid reason but I really don't want to talk about it right now... Please..." I said hoping she'd understand.

She looked like she was having an internal debate but then she looked at me and smiled, "Come on in" she said opening the door. For a minute I was shocked and stood still at the door. She turned to me and said "Well... What are you waiting for???" and that's all the encouragement I needed to go inside.

She started walking and I followed her inside. The house was cosy and warm not very modern more of a cottage feel, wooden floors and peach and beige toned walls and brown couches in front of a fireplace. There were two doors one lead to a living room and the other was towards my right just before the stairs that lead to the kitchen. As a hunter I was trained to get the layout of the house and study it for potential exits in case of emergencies but before I could look around some more Aunt Haley indicated that I follow her up the stairs so I guess I would check it out later but she stopped when she was on the third step and turned towards me and blurted out a question that almost had my laughing my ass off. She asked me, "You aren't pregnant, are you???". I shook my head saying "no" and she said, "Huh!!! Good to know. Whew!!!". Then she muttered more to herself than me but I heard her cause of the device let me have super hearing. She muttered "And I thought that she was a scout girl selling cookies". That got me laughing she looked back slightly flushed and said "You heard that huh??? I nodded my head and we continued upstairs. There were four doors upstairs she lead me to the second door and opened it. It was a normal sized room with a dresser, a cupboard and a normal size bed. The walls were painted a light blue and there were lime green curtains along with a seating near it. "Is it enough for you???" she asked nervously.

The fact that that she actually cared about my opinion made me feel like it won't take long for me to be close to her that made me happy. She took my silence as a no and told me, "I wasn't really expecting anybody" but before she could continue I turned around with a wide smile and said "It's perfect". And it was because even though I lived at my house since I could remember it stopped being home when my mother died but here, right now I've felt more at home than ever. At last I could call a place home sweet home.
