Epilogue

So, as you can see, my story did not start off the way your typical story does. However, I like to say that it did not end quite the way it began either. The storm has finally subsided, the clouds have parted, and I can see that the sun is shining at last. Hatred, despair, regret, revenge, all these things rained down on me until I finally acknowledged the one who reigned over all.

When I first began telling this story I thought that it was about the monster within me and what it had caused me to do. Now, though, I see that I was wrong to think that. This story had nothing to do with the monster that dwelt within me or the fact that I had given up control to him. This was not even my story.

How strange it is to realize that my story is not my story at all. This story, all along, has been about someone else, someone far greater than I could ever hope to be. Before you start guessing who it is, let me tell you that no, it is not Jonathan, my adoptive father, Leah, or any other person you may be thinking of. No, this story is about someone greater than all of us combined.

My story is the story of the vast, deep, and immeasurable love, grace, and mercy of the Savior King. My story is not my story but his story.

This is the story of the mighty works of mercy and grace. This is the story of how Jesus Christ worked in my life and made me into a new creation. This is the story of Jesus Christ told through my life.

This is his story and it is only the beginning.
