"Hi, I'm Jane, Lydia's, foster supervisor." I looked around the neighbor hood, better than the last one I was at.
"Hi." I looked at the woman in front of me, she's beautiful, she's about 5'7, black hair, and really pretty blue eyes. "I'm Tessa, this is my husband, Luke, and our son, Jack." I looked at the baby in his arms.
"Hi.." Tessa smiled at me and looked at Jane.
"Just give me a moment." They nodded their heads and grabbed my bags. "This family is really sweet, and could be good for you."
"That's what you said about the other house, Jane." Jane bit her lip before squatting in front of me.
"Just, give them a chance, because that's what their giving you." I looked at her then at the family by their door. "Please? For me?" I sighed and wrapped my arms around her.
"Only for you."
"Call if you need anything." I nodded my head and grabbed my stuff wolf and my bag before walking up to them.
"Want to see your room?" I looked at them, then at Jane. She gave me a nod and a encouraging smile.
"Yes, please." They looked at each other and smiled. I followed them to a really cool room. I looked around the room, the first thing you see is a desk, with a laptop on it. It has some speakers under it and a box on the chair. My bed was behind it, and a skater ramp was in front of it with a TV in the middle on a wall, there was a box of skateboards by it. Wow. I looked at the walls, they had painted skate boards and cool decorations with it.
"I heard you love to skateboard, I hope this is okay?" I looked at Tessa.
"It's beautiful. I love it." She looked at her husband.
"We have two rules." Two? "Diner is always ready by 8:30, we expect you to be there on time. Baths are after diner, and every night." That's it?
"Nothing else? Like no boys over? Or clean the house?"
"Sweetie, boys are fine, unless your dating, then the door stays open at all times. We are putting our trust in you for the rest. And we are very much capable to clean up after our selves. And you are capable to clean after yourself too." I smiled at them, maybe Jane was right.
"Yes ma'am."
"Dinner will be ready shortly, we're having a few friends over.. unless, you don't want to be overwhelmed we thought if you got to know their kids, you'll..."
"It's fine, it'll be nice to make a few friends." They sighed in relief and nodded their heads, I looked around my room again as someone rung the door bell.
"That's probably them, come on." I gulped and walked slowly to them. I looked at Jack as he bit his hands. I took out a little toy and gave it to him, he began to bite on it smiling.
"My brother use to love this when he was younger... is it okay?" The couple looked at each other.
"It's very fine." I smiled and made my way down stairs, the couple followed and opened the door.
"Hi, Betty." I looked at the blonde woman then the blonde head kid. "Reginald, hi."
"Hi, Mrs. S."
"Oh, she's finally here." I tensed as the woman endured me into a hug. "Sorry, I'm Betty, and this is my son Reginald." I waved shyly as she let go of me.
"Hi."
"This is.."
"Please Tessa, she's perfectly capable for speaking herself."
"Are you okay?" I smiled at her, she's really kind, I looked at Reginald's mom, she's pretty too, blonde hair, green eyes, around 5'7.
"I'm Lydia, just call me anything. Lia, Lee, or anything else, I've heard a lot of different nicknames.." Betty looked at her son then at me.
"Reginald."
"Right, hi, Lydia, I'm Reginald, but my friends call me Munch." He said holding out his hand, I smiled and shook his hand.
"Nice to meet you, Munch." I looked at the door as a woman entered with a man and two kids.
"Hey, Tessa." She hugged the couple and then Betty and Munch, I saw the younger boy look at me before talking to Munch. "You must be Lydia." I smiled at the woman.
"Yes ma'am." Her smile grew as she looked the the couple.
"Well, I'm Theresa, this is my husband, David. (I don't remember his name.) And our two sons, Tuck and Marcus." I waved at the boys, happy she didn't envelope me into a hug.
"Lydia." They waved back, I really just want to lay down, and soak in the new house, like I always do. We turned our attention to the door as there was a knock, Tuck opened it and hugged a boy, he was cute, brown hair, brown eyes.. I looked at his parents, wow, his mom his beautiful. Brown hair, blue eyes, fair skin, wow.. She looked at me and smiled.
"Lydia?" I nodded my head once and looked at the couple. "Hi. Wow you are really beautiful." I smiled at the woman.
"Thank you, you four are like, wow. Really beautiful." I don't like sucking up to parents, not if I'm lying, but they all are really beautiful.
"I like you. May I ask... where was the last place you lived at?" I saw their son look confused.
"Japan, I was sent to a home there, because I couldn't find one in the us.. until now." The woman looked at Tessa, then me.
"Oh, my manners, I'm Alissa, and this is my husband, Peter, and our boys, Dylan and Alex." I looked at the baby and made a face making him laugh. "Good with babies I see."
"Oh, um, I use to have a brother." The woman looked at me with soft eyes. Right.
"So, um, why don't you kids, go to Lydia's room until dinner's ready?" I smiled at her, I mouthed 'thank you', she smiled in return. I walked up to my room, the boys in tow. I flopped down on my bed as I entered, the three boys looked around.
"So, Lydia. Do you know the name Lydia derives from the Greek Λυδία, Ludía, from λυδία which is also known as 'beautiful one', 'noble one'?" I looked at Munch shocked.
"Yeah, I do." I looked down and then at my bag.
"So, you like to skate?" I looked at Tuck.
"Yes, my first home, their son showed me how, he was 15 I think." Tuck nodded his head.
"So you're a foster too?" I looked confused.
"Yeah, my whole life, I've had 34 homes, this year, but... they didn't really work out."
"This year? How many total."
"Let's see, I'm 8, so... prolly around 80-90 homes." I said looking down at my lap.
"Yeah, Alex, he's moved around a lot too." The boy looked at us as he heard his name.
"So, you went to Japan.. how was that?" I looked at him.
"I guess, other than the family I was sent to, it was good. The sushi was out of the world. I mean Anime seriously wasn't tripping, they are 10 times better than how they make it to be." I shook my head until something beeped in my bag. I leaned over and got out my phone.. right. I dug in my bag and took out the medicine Jane gave me, I took one pill and the v8 I had in my bag. I looked at the boys as they looked at me. "Sorry, my supervisor Jane, told me to take these, it helps with uh, my depression. I'm a very blunt person, so don't expect me to hold anything back." They nodded their heads, we looked at the door as someone knocked.
"Dinner's ready, how do you like pizza?" I smiled and got up.
"Love it." She smiled at me as I walked down stairs, I sat down next to Dylan, who was in a highchair, Alex sat next to me, I gave a small smile. To my surprised he returned it.
