NOTE: THIS IS A 2-PERSPECTIVE CHAPTER

Eleven:
I went home feeling giddy. I don't know why though. There is something about Max that feels more different than Mike. I felt like I could trust her. I went inside the house sneakily, I go to Mike's after school because Will, Dustin and Lucas are there after school. A part of me wished that Max could come to Mike's so we can talk, and that was when I saw her. Max was entering her house and I hid behind a tree 'MAX IS MY NEIGHBOR?!' That made me very excited but nervous at the same time. I went inside anyway and saw Mike by the door.
"Hey El. What are you smiling about?" he gave me a kiss but I pushed him away.
"What's going on El? Are you still mad?" he looked concerned. I didn't want him to be worried about me.
"No, I need to get ready," I replied.
"What for?"
"I am going to the mall with my new best friend," I gave him a big grin.
"El, is it with that Max girl you were talking about? I don't trust her," he frowned.
"She said I can trust her," I started to feel hot inside.
"Well, she might be lying El,"
"Friends don't lie Mike." I frowned at him. I stormed out of the basement.
"El! Look, you can hang out with her. I am just worried for you okay?" He wants to reassure me but that doesn't work.
"You don't need to be,"
"El, what if she finds out about your powers?" he called me out. It stung so hard.
"She won't." I gave him one last look and left.

Max:
I was getting ready to leave when I was stopped by my older brother Billy.
"Hey Max," he always had that sly grin I hated.
"Get away from me," I pushed him away.
"Whatcha gonna do?" he asked. I went into my room anyway.
"I saw you walking with that girl..." I turned around.
"Mhm, got your attention now huh? Listen up, I know that little secret of yours and I know your little crush on that weirdo," he rambled so much. I wanted to punch him.
"Don't talk about her that way Billy," I said angrily.
"Or what?" now he was challenging me. I stayed silent, I knew that this was going to lead into another fight and I didn't want to be late.
I got dressed quickly, got up and left. I skateboarded to the mall and waited for her. Then, I saw her. She wore a black, crazy patterned romper and among the sea of crowds she went through, only she stood out.

Eleven:
When I saw Max, my heart pounded. There she was, her flaming red hair. She was the only girl I saw amongst everyone.
"Hi," I was speechless. She waved but she looked speechless too. We blushed and looked at the ice cream shop to avoid awkwardness. We ended up going home a bit later than usual but we had so much fun, it was worth getting scolded by Mike.
"El, where have you been?!" he looked real mad.
"The mall," I grinned at him.
"Nothing is funny El, you took too long. You know its risky,"
"It was just the mall," I started to get angry.
"EXACTLY. Your temper could've gone off around those girls. You remember what happens right?" I nodded sadly.
"Well, why can't I go out like everyone else?!" Ugh, this is what I feared.
"Umm Mike, you can lay off her now. Its fine. She was with Lucas' girlfriend right?" I nodded. Thank god for Will, he has saved me from these types of situations so many times. He is the ONLY one who can calm Mike down.
"Ok, I won't be mad anymore. Sorry El." he was still mad, I could tell. But at-least he wasn't screaming anymore. I went up to my room and cried. Why do I have to keep my powers a secret? I wished I never had them, they haunt me everywhere, especially in my dreams. I was dead tired when I came home so I slept. Once my head hit the pillow, visions of the Upside Down came. The Mind Flayer was chasing me! I couldn't get out. I screamed for everyone I knew, especially Max. I screamed for my life.
