Chapter 11.1
Anxiety was without questions a problem i soon faced. Annika might have been a human to quickly get along with, basing on how it had turned out for me with her, but with Khalidwe things had happened fast. It had not been hours with her and yet her home was where she was going to stay before and after the masked ball for until morning. I wasn't in terms with that. It was giving me fears. If anything was to happen to her lots of questions were to come to me and i was to take the blame. Out of insecurity i texted her right after i had been welcomed by Eddie's mother into her house, when she and her sons had greeted me and Eddie had shown me his room, where i was to sleep that night.
Hey, are you okay?
Her response came fast, a little bit of a sign of panic to me. In a snap i punched the right buttons that got her message opened and on the display of the phone for me to read.
I was not when we were separating. I am walking in the park right now. Khalidwe is been a good host. Don't worry about me; i am sure i will be fine.
The ease came but it wasn't enough to give me back a full positive free mind. I could not find any sincere in it and so i texted her again.
Alright, see you at the party but in case something that is threatening you happens, in case you sense something bad, call me immediately. Okay?
She was not quick at answering this one. An hour went without her texting me back, a torment to my brain, the part of it that does the thinking, and pain for the beating machine in my chest. I was worried. Miraculously, the glass was greener on the other side and a part of me was there. I was charting with Eddie as we beat each other to death. We were not literally killing each other rather playing the famous PlayStation 2 game titled Mortal combat which required us to fight each other’s opponent to death. The television showcasing us that stood opposite to a couch we had sat on.
"You have become so soft at this" Eddie said to me after he had won me for a unaccountable time. "You never used to give me a chance at winning. Should i blame Annika for your downfall? Is she kind of the Delilah of Samson to you?"
"Oh come on" i nagged, a flattered smile invented on my face. "She is far away from being Delilah. It has just being a while without playing the game."
I put down my gaming pad.
"You know something, you have been talking about Annika but never for once have you mentioned that she rocks short hair and that she is that beautiful" Eddie said. I took that as a compliment. "You thought i will snatch her from you?"
He was at the moment playing the game alone, moving his head to the game's sound rhythms as if he was as flexible as the character he had selected. I was so frustrated with losing to him that i didn't want to play anymore. I decided to just watch.
"You never told me that Khalidwe is a redhead" I answered Eddie's question.
"Right" he purred. "But soon or later i was going to tell you."
"That just explains it" i said. Eddie put the game on hold and eagerly asked, "explains what?"
"We can't outline every single detail about the ones we love. Some things we forget, some we got to leave to the imaginations, some we got to leave for surprises and some we just got to keep to ourselves. Love grows beautifully that way."
"Your poetry is aging" he said.
"What's that supposed to mean?" i asked, grinning.
"You are getting good with your poetry. Maybe that's what has killed your passion for Mortal combat."
"Not really."
