Once upon a time, there was a young boy. This young boy was not like the rest. As soon as he was born, everyone knew that he was in for something special.
At birth, he was like any baby, but what made him so different was the fact that he did not cry immediately when he came out of his mother's womb. He was silent for a moment. Twitching and twitching as if there was something inside of him.
Then he went still. Everyone thought that he was good for dead, but they were wrong. He cried loudly. An ear-splitting wail. Everyone cheered after going to the doctor to get medicine for their ears.
After some months, he displayed rather... strange intelligence for children his age. With toy blocks, he would build something more than just a tower. He would build a mini sculpture of the white house as best as he could. His family knew that there was a bright future ahead of him.
In his family, there was no jealousy. They have never heard of it. They only try to push themselves harder and harder just to make everyone the same. They were proud of this boy. The boy, they believed, would change the world.
What made him also very strange was that he was always singled out by the neighborhood kids his age. Their parents always told their kids to be more like him and befriend him, but they would always bully him and single him out in the end.
The boy had no friends.
Human friends, anyway. He friended creatures that were supposedly magical with quirks and all. However, after the dark and when he had to go home, they'd all leave. His family already had their roles. It seemed that he did not. He was always alone.
However, that day came. When he would meet his great grandfather for the first time. His great grandfather was the head of the family. The great grandfather was also a painter. It was him that became the boy's first companion.
Ever since meeting his great grandfather, the boy would always visit him when he could. Then he would sit and listen to the elderly man's stories. This kept the boy company. The two grew very close.
One day, the boy went on a hiking trip with his uncle. Supposedly, this was to be a regular hiking trip, but one of the stars seemed to fall out of the sky. That's when reality hit him. It was not a star. It was one of those creatures.
Pokemon.
The boy befriended the Pokemon, which was a Cleffa. Cleffa became the boy's Pokemon, and he would show it to his great grandfather.
The great grandfather was very pleased that the boy had a friend who would company him until death would do them apart. Knowing the boy's similarities to himself, the great grandfather knew he would not last long.
Almost every member of the boy's family were quirkless. One of the exceptions was the great grandfather. He had a quirk, all right, but it was impossible to tell where that came from. His parents had been quirkless, too.
Some time passed, and the little boy was becoming an older brother to his younger sister. When his younger sister was born, the girl did not cry at first, like him. The boy was very worried, but after a second, she burst in tears and wailed. It was as if history had repeated itself. The boy was 4 years old at that time.
It was in the morning when the girl was born. As soon as the minute came, the boy knew his role in the family. He had discovered it. His role was to protect and guide his sister to life. He swore on his life to protect her. He grew to be far more mature than his age in order to take care of his sister.
Not wasting any time as they got home, the boy brought his sister to meet their great grandfather. The girl, he could tell, was excited. She was giggling all the way. She, too, displayed superior intelligence like him. When they arrived at the great grandfather's home, they talked. This would the first and last day the great grandfather and the girl met.
