(Name), honestly, couldn't stay still in her spot. She wanted to see Katsuki and Shouto before their match. (B/N) consented, and she was in the halls. She felt sad that she couldn't cheer them on, so maybe she could apologize now?
She was alone this time because she wanted that privacy. Pikachu wasn't with her, and the halls seemed to be too quiet. It added somewhat pressure to her head because the silence was so suffering. She expected it to be broken soon because walking around in complete silence that wasn't very comforting made her feel a bit uncomfortable.
With another step, she heard a big 'boom,' and like anyone else, she flinched. Then she hears a voice that was angry yell, "LOOK AT ME IN THE EYE, TWO FACE!" She guessed it was Katsuki talking to Shouto.
She began to walk faster, yet she didn't know why.
There came a deep mumbling after the screaming, and she walked faster. Suddenly, she was facing Katsuki and Shouto talking. She was outside of Prep Room 2 already. She remained silent as she watched her two classmates talk.
"You've been friends since you were kids, right?" Shouto asked Katsuki, not even looking at him. "Was he always like that, Midoriya, I mean."
Katsuki flinched like he was remembering a bad moment. (Name) still remained silent even though she wanted to say, "Good luck, you two!" The explosive boy grit his teeth in anger. He clenched his fists then kicked the table off the ground.
"Who the hell cares?" he snapped. Shouto had just lifted his hands and kept that plain face. "All his stupid speeches," Katsuki growled, then he aimed his words towards Shouto. "And you! Your family? Your stupid feelings? Like anyone cares. Come at me with your left side. Go on." That caught Shouto's interest.
"I'll crush those flames like I do with anything else." Katsuki turned to get out, but he ended up bumping into (Name). "Oh, you."
(Name) smiled. "Yeah! Me!" she cheered. "I just came by to apologize... I wasn't here to cheer you in the previous matches..." She rubbed the back of her head sheepishly.
We didn't even know, so why're you apologizing? both competitors wondered but didn't dare to say it out loud. Shouto went back to staring at his hands, and Katsuki just nodded and walked past (Name).
(Name) went inside the room and looked at the sitting Shouto. "Hey, Shouto-kun," she began. "Did you use your left side in your battle with Izuku-san?"
Shouto nodded. (Name) hissed through her teeth, taken back by a bit.
Shouto slowly stood up and faced (Name) even though he was taller than her. "(Name)," he said solemnly, gathering her attention. "I'm not bound by my dad's blood, am I?"
(Name) blinked a bit. Then her face softened. "Shouto-kun, when someone gives you something, it's not theirs anymore- it's yours now," she said. "Your parents' quirks may have been passed on to you, but it's not theirs- it's yours. You maybe your father's son, but you are still Shouto Todoroki- your own individual being.
"It's your choice to choose if you're bound by your father's blood, but I want you to remember that you're your own person."
(Name)'s soft expression went back into her signature smile. "So both sides or not, do your best- I'm rooting for you!" she added.
Shouto stiffened. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a Poke Ball, confusing (Name). Then he grabbed her hand with the ring he gave to her and placed the Poke Ball in her palm. "(Name), after this match, let's have a battle," he suggested. "But take care of Darmanitan while I fight. I'll win; I won't disappoint you."
(Name) confusedly took the Poke Ball in her hand. She looked at her once childhood friend and nodded eagerly. She smiled and looked at her friend. "I'm not worried about you winning. I'm more worried about you letting go of your grudge with your father- I hope you'll forgive him."
