Chapter 6 - Sleepy Boy

"I like you."
The words felt fragile on my tongue, like they could shatter just from my mouth closing.

There you go, George!

"Not againn," I sighed, shifting around in my bed. 

George come on-

"Shut uppp," I said in a sing-song tone, grabbing my phone to distract myself. 

I opened the fifty messages from Dream, scrolling through the desperate spamming. 

Me:
What

Dream:
You finally responded

Me:
Yeah, what do you want?

Dream:
Nevermind..

Me:
Can you tell me? 

Dream:
You hate me. 

I stared at the message, my thumb hovering over the keypad. It's so far from hate.

Me:
Yeah totally

Dream:
Come on, George. You do, don't you? You seem so uncomfortable whenever you talk to me.

Me: 
Sure, sometimes I'm uncomfortable.
I don't hate you though.

Dream:
You don't have to lie

Me:
Clay, I'm not lying

Dream: 
Mmhm.

I gripped my phone tightly, angry that he thought that. I couldn't think of anything to do besides call him.

The call continued to ring without an answer, and finally stopped. 

Dream:
What?

I accepted that he didn't want to call. It probably wouldn't have been a very good idea, either.

Me:
Clay, I don't hate you. You're one of my favorite people. Ever. I wouldn't be here without you. The only reason why I'm so uncomfortable is because of all the viewers. I guess I never told you how anxious I get when I stream, and you always make it better. 

Dreams bitmoji sat there for a bit. Way longer than it would take to read. Occasionally he would start typing, then stop. 

Dream:
..sorry

I smiled a bit, amused on how pathetic he was being. 

Me: 
No need, I get where you were coming from.

Dream:
I shouldn't have assumed you didn't like me
You're my best friend, too, george. 

My smile grew bigger and my cheeks burned a bit. 

Me:

Dream:
Ugh when can we meet upppp

Me:
Soon calm down. You seem excited, but I hate to break it to you that we're not going to fuck.

Dream:
Eughhh I don't want to go anymore 

Me:

Dream:

Me:
