~song of the chapter: out of my league-fitz and the tantrums~
After what felt like only a second, Blaire pulled away from the hug. Fred looked at her, biting his lip in regret. She sighed. Blaire hated to pull away, but a hug that would have lasted longer would have given away a wrong idea to the other students.
"I'm sorry, Blaire", he said. His voice was shaking, but only so little Blaire could barely tell.
"Don't worry about it, Weasley", the girl answered and slowly backed away from him. "I've gotta get to class now, I'll see you around, Freddie". He gave her a warm smile and watched her closely as she entered the classroom. As most of the seats were already taken, she decided it was best to take a seat in the front. Blaire cared about her grades because it was the only thing making her parents proud of her. School had always come easy to her, and she was on good terms with all teachers- in some way, even with Snape. Excited murmurs filled the room as Professor Flitwick entered the room and demanded silence.
"Students, I welcome you to the first Charms class in this year. I truly hope that your holidays were relaxing, but now we're back at school, meaning i expect discipline from everyone!" The room quieted and the lesson began. Blaire liked charms, she was a naturally talented witch and mastered the class perfectly.
She was to demonstrate the silencing charm. With a flick of her wand, she casted "Silencio" on a fellow Ravenclaw student, who was unable to speak a second later."Bravo, Blaire. Again, a perfectly executed spell. I expected nothing less of you. Five points to Ravenclaw, for eager learning and talent!", Flitwick announced. The students cheered and congratulated her. Blaire felt her face reddening. She didn't like being the centre of attention. She thanked everyone and quietly sat down again. The remaining minutes of the class went by in a flash. They revised old spells, continued to learn the silencing charm and studied their books.
As the class ended and Blaire was just about to step out of the door, the professor called her back.
"Blaire, would you do me an extraordinary favor?", he asked, smiling up at her. "Anything, Mr. Flitwick", the girl responded. "Would you be so kind to deliver this letter to Harry Potter? I haven't seen him around this year and I was hoping you would be able to give it to them."
"Of course, that's not gonna be a problem", Blaire replied."Thank you dear", the Professor said and Blaire hurried to her next class.
On the way she bumped into a person and dropped her books. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry, I was in a rush", Blaire said desperately.
She looked up and saw no other than Cedric Diggory.
"Don't worry. Come on, I'll get that for you", he said, while kneeling down to pick up her book. "Charms", he chuckled. "I hope you're not reading that in your free time"
"Oh, no, I just came from my charms class, don't worry", Blaire responded, brushing her hair behind her ears. "You're Blaire Sandrins, right", he asked. Blaire was shocked that he even knew her name. "Yes, correct. And you are-""Cedric Diggory, it's a pleasure", he interrupted.
Cocky.
"I don't wanna obstruct you from getting to your next class, but would you care for a walk later? Preferably without your books", he smiled. And he was irresistibly gorgeous. His dark blonde hair touched his forehead and he quickly slicked it back with his hands. His pale, spotless skin wrinkled as he raised his eyebrows at her.She needed a second to realize what had just happened. Did Cedric Diggory just ask her out on a date?
"Uh, sure. But not today, I've got important things to do. Maybe tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow sounds lovely. I'll see you in the Great Hall, Blaire", he answered with a sly grin.
As he walked away, Blaire seemed to be frozen in her place.What. Just. Happened?
Blaire's face was giving away her emotions. Her eyelids fluttered close, and wrinkles appeared on her forehead as she raised her eyebrows. She bit her lower lip in confusion and slammed her hand into her forehead. She must have been standing there for a good amount of time, because when she opened her eyes again, people were staring at her weirdly.
