Today might be the best day of my life.
I am going to the North pole to work for Santa Claus, yes THE Santa Claus. Just a normal sixteen year old girl that never stopped believing in Santa. How can you stop, it sounds like such a magical place and the fact that the elves are so kind.
There is only one person I can think of that doesn't believe in it, my little sister Suzy. But just think I, Jenny Miracle, get to be one of those elves, and maybe if I'm good enough I will get put in the Christmas stories for the little kids. Right now I'm on a plane to Santa's village. I'm so excited! There are almost no other people on this plane except for the crew. It's been two hours since take off and my eyes are drooping in hopes for some sleep. We still have three (almost four) long hours to go. My mom always told me it never hurts to take a small nap, especially on a plane.
I wake up to one of the flight attendants slightly shaking my shoulder telling me we are gonna land. Rubbing the sleep out of my eyes, I collect myself by taking my seatbelt on and closing the small table, getting ready to go.
I step out of the plane and breathe in the cold winter air that feels like it's frozen - it feels so nice to be breathing fresh air again after being stuck in there for more than five hours.
Today is the 18th of December, so Christmas is just around the corner.
I expect a lot of Christmas joy in Santa's workshop and I feel like I can already feel the warmth of the shop and smell the freshly baked Christmas cookies that Miss Claus would bake for all the elves and of course Santa. One of the elder elves, who is going to be my senior, drives me in a sleigh to Santa's village, which is surrounded by a thick wall of snow that looks like you would need a hammer to break through. I could slightly see the Christmas lights on the Christmas tree I was told was in the middle of the village. The gates opened up, and I was expecting to be blown away by joy and happiness.
But... everything was so dull and... sad? Oh well, just because it wasn't as expected doesn't mean this isn't gonna be the time of my life!
I entered the workshop to see the happy elves working or... they were smiling at least. I couldn't help but feel like something was just a bit off.
An old man wearing dirty worn out clothes and a long greasy beard greeted me
"HELLO! you must be Jenny!" he said, his voice was kind of shaky sounding, like it could quite literally break at any given moment "uh yeah, that's me... If I may ask sir then who are you?" I asked. He chuckled bitterly like I had offended him, while also giving me a glare and told me "I am Saint Nicholas young lady, and you should know that" I was shocked but tried not to show it too much. This man did in no way look like Santa. Instead of being big, round and kind, he was small, thin, fragile and bitter ,like he was trying to smile and be kind but it was just making it all worse.
"I am so sorry sir" I apologize "No worries, just learn from your mistake or you will end up like Lucas" he sneered "who's Lucas?"
"Exactly..."
Well that's the first chapter and we hope you enjoyed :).
We hope you stick around for the other next chapters, since there's only gonna be more dramaaaaaaa.
Even if you don't celebrate Christmas we hope you could still enjoy this if you want.
