Emergency Landing

"Well, nice to know that the very king of the Toppat clan has killed some of his own members," Charles said dryly.

"Oh, hush, he's revived now." Henry shrugged. "No biggie."

"No biggie?!" Charles exclaimed. "You killed someone, and now you're using him for your own personal deeds! How is that not a big deal?!"

"Because we're chill now," Henry told him. "Correct, RHM?"

RHM didn't reply, just nodded with his gaze firmly tied onto Charlie's.

"He's not much for speaking. Unless it's Reginald."

"Don't bring Reg into t'is!" RHM yelled, then composed himself.

"Sorry, sorry," Henry mused. "My my, aren't you defensive? Why, does your little sugarpie need some time to learn how to walk again~?"

RHM sniffed out of his nose like an angry bull, then stalked away.

"Reg..?"

"You remember him. Tall, brown hair, cinnamon eyes, RHM's husband..? The one who interrupted our date?"

"Date?!" Charles was on the edge of the cliff of exploding. "It wasn't a date! You were just showing me around the airship, that's it!"

"Sure, sure."

Charles clenched his fists and exhaled, biting down on his bottom lip.

He couldn't do anything about how snarky Henry was acting.

But he betrayed me! Why is he even flirting with me in the first place?!

Because he has a crush on you.

No, he doesn't! I already made sense of that!

Henry saw how he was obviously upset and smirked.

"Aw, darling, that's cute," he mused.

Charles was about to spit out some random insults, but Henry casually pinned his body against the pilot's.

Charles felt his breathing quicken and catch in his throat, staring at Henry with a mixture of rage and terror.

"What are you doing?!" he managed to utter.

"I told you that you were cute."

"Uh... Sir? Am I.... Interrupting something?"

They both turned their heads to see Ms. Rose in her clean pink and white suit.

She looked completely professional, but Charlie knew that she was internally very amused.

"Er- No. Shoot, Ellie."

"Alright. Some government vehicles were spotted planning an ambush on us. Burt'll try to hold them off for as long as he can, but we might need our leader soon."

"Go make sure he's doing everything he can to keep the government away."

"Of course, sir."

As she was walking away, Henry called after her; "Henry! It's Henry!"

"Weren't you a quiet one when we recruited you?"

When you betrayed us all. When you betrayed me.

"Yeah."

"This louder Henry is new. What changed?"

His voice is kinda handsome...

Charles, stop!

"I only speak with some of my closest members. When I first met you, I didn't talk to you that much. It says something that I am now, doesn't it?"

"I don't care if you sign or verbally talk to me. You can't change what you've done, or make me suddenly feel bad for you. I will admit, when I first heard you were a silent burglar, I underestimated you. But I'll never make that mistake again. Unfortunately for me, you're very clever."

"I'll take that as a compliment."

"Uhm... Sir?"

As Henry turned back to Ellie, he seemed very displeased she had not used his name.

"What, ma'am?"

He was trying to be clever, to let her know how it felt, but she didn't seem to care.

"I think you'd like to know, sir, that Burt wasn't able to stop all the vehicles with even all the defense mechanuevers we have."

"Did the whole clan try?"

"... No. Only the members of communication tried. They're the only ones that know how to work the defense mechanisms."

Henry pinched his nose in annoyance, then sighed.

"That's it. I'm issuing an emergency landing. Tell Burt to land the airship."
