Awkward...

He guided the ex-pilot through the long hallway, into the same room where they had first called Galeforce.

The TV turned on, and it was at that moment when Charles realized that he probably should've covered his neck in some way.

But Galeforce was right there now, so there'd be no way.

"Ah, Charlie." His adoptive father smiled at him.

Did he not notice? He usually has a very keen eye-

"Wait... What is..."

Crap.

Galeforce's eyes narrowed sharply, and Charlie instinctively stepped back.

"Stickmin."

Henry stepped toward the screen with no fear.

"Yes, General?"

"What have you done to my son?"

"Well, if you really want to know." Henry smirked. "We've gotten very close recently."

"... Charlie?"

"Y-Yes, Dad?"

"Is that true?"

Charles went numb.

Saying no would be a lie, and he really didn't like lying, especially to his father.

But they weren't close in that way.

"Let me explain-"

"So it is true?!"

General Galeforce looked so angry, steam was almost coming out of his ears like a kettle.

"Well- Hear me out, please!"

"Stickmin, let me make something clear. You are not permitted to go anywhere near my son."

"Ah, but General, you don't have any choice on how close I get with your son."

Charles was a bit scared at how he said that so smoothly to an angry father's face.

Especially an angry Galeforce.

Was Henry really fearless?

"We just had a little fight, I'm telling the truth!"

"And I was top." Henry's smirk grew.

"Shut it, Henry!"

"What are you about to do about it, my little fallen angel?"

"I can show you what a fallen angel can do-"

"Then show me."

Henry grabbed Charlie's hand and waist, pulling him closer.

"Don't touch him!"

Henry turned off the TV and turned his face back to Charlie.

He messed with his hair a bit, gently kissed his forehead, and held his cheeks in his hands.

Charles removed his hands from his face quickly.

"Even if you think you're powerful against Galeforce, you can't just do anything you want to me. I'm still a person with valid emotions."

"So am I."

Charles averted his gaze.

"And my emotions might make me do things I'd never usually do."

"You're always responsible for your actions," he muttered.

"Correction; you aren't. Sometimes things get out of your hands, and it might cause one to do impulsive things."

"What's driving you? What's your motive for this?"

"Desperation," Henry responded admittingly.

"What were you so desperate about? You seem very happy in your position as king."

Charles almost gagged on the last word.

"Admit it. You were just selfish to have all of these free things."

"I wasn't."

"... Some things never change. You're still a slimy liar."

Henry sighed.

"I guess I expect you to believe that. But I'm not, and when the time comes, you'll realize that."

He lightly tapped Charlie's nose, smiling.

"My instincts are never wrong," Charles growled.

"It's never too late," Henry replied. "I wouldn't want to prove you right."

Charles narrowed his eyes and kicked Henry back lightly, as he didn't want to actually hurt him.

Being physical would've been an option earlier, but it wasn't now.

Charlie didn't really know why.

Henry seemed mainly unaffected, though he didn't approach again.

"You do realize just how much trouble you could get in for placing your hands on me like that."

"Same to you," Charles contradicted. "I think you already are. At least I have someone that actually cares about me."

"Who, Galeforce?" Henry laughed. "I don't think so."

"What are you trying to say, Stickmin?"

"I'm saying that this situation has been in my control forever."

With that, Henry flicked his cape behind his shoulder disdainfully and left.
