Leonardo's P.O.V.
His kiss was unlike anything I'd ever experienced before. His lips were so soft and sugary, like the sweetest mangoes, and when he withdrew, all I wanted was to feel his embrace again.
"I can't believe this just happened." He spoke in a raspy voice.
"Me either."
I hopped off the counter, our hands intertwined, and Vinnie guided me into the living room and then shot up to retrieve something. Soon he came back, carrying a warm, cozy blue blanket that cocooned us snugly..
I murmured into his chest, "You're the best pillow ever, have I ever told you that?"
He gawked at me, almost as if he couldn't believe what he just heard. "No, not really," he said, with a tone that left no room for argument.
"Well now you know."
He outstretched his arm, snatching the remote control from the adjacent table. His gaze lit up with eagerness as he queried, "What movie should we watch tonight?"
"I don't mind, you pick."
He was ecstatic, practically shouting with excitement as he proposed, "Why don't we watch a scary movie? I love them!"
"We have that in common."
I was a die-hard fan of horror movies. From the intense thrill of slasher films to the outrageous, stomach-churning gore. Thus, it was no surprise when I found myself laughing at the protagonist's death.
Vinnie stared at me with an incredulous expression, as if he was trying to comprehend why I was laughing. I attempted to formulate a response that didn't make me appear to be a psychopath, but the words that came out of my mouth were, "What? It's funny how she died."
"You're so fucking weird. You know that right?"
"But you like me though."
He gave me a tender kiss on my forehead and added with a loving tone, "you've won this one."
His face was close to mine, an intense atmosphere surrounding us, and he murmured, "If this was real life, I'd be the one looking out for you and keeping you safe from all the scary stuff."
I slowly swivelled my head around to look at him, my eyebrows raised in disbelief as I asked, "Oh, really? And how would you manage that?"
I chuckled softly, my words a playful challenge, "Well, for starters, I'd make sure to have a baseball bat ready to fend off any ghosts or monsters that dare to come near."
He flashed a triumphant smile as though he had bested me. "Easy! All we have to do is hide under the blanket. Ghosts can't get through it, right?"
"I appreciate your chivalry, but I think you've been watching too many horror movies."
I remained curled up against Vinnie's chest for an hour after the movie started, feeling completely at ease. But then, a strange tingling sensation began to creep down my spine, becoming more and more intense as the seconds ticked by. My concentration was so focused on the feeling that I didn't even hear Vinnie speak. "Sorry, could you repeat that?" I asked.
He asked again, his voice laced with concern, "You've been squirming for a while now? Are you alright?"
"Ugh, I have this really annoying itch on my back that I can't scratch."
"Do you want a good ol' back rub?"
I gave a nod in agreement, my face glowing with warmth. I couldn't resist the delightful feeling of Vinnie's hand making its way underneath my sweater. I guided him a bit until his sharp nails landed on the area that was begging for attention. With a gentle scratch, he provided the sweet relief that I had been longing for.
