I walked into work the next day feeling much better about the Ryder situation.

It's been a week since we decided that we were Friends.

That's what we were...

Just friends.

I stepped into my office and greeted Lillian as usual before sitting down at my desk to begin my work for the day.

I had to work on the invitations for the upcoming banquet next month and then I would have Lillian owl them out.

I loved when the Ministry would hold big events like this, mostly because I loved to get dressed up and have some drinks.

I was about to leave for my lunch break when I heard talking coming from Lillian's small office just outside my door.

I approached it quietly before opening the door and my eyes went wide immediately.

"And that's how she got stuck in the lift!" Ryder chuckled while leaning onto Lillian's desk, telling some sort of story that Lillian found hilarious.

"That's brilliant!" Lillian laughed hysterically as she hit the desk repeatedly with her hand.

"Ahem."

They both turned to face me standing in the doorway and when Ryder saw me, he gulped.

"I'm glad to see that you two are getting along," I muttered under my breath as I pushed past Ryder, purposely bumping his shoulder and walking out of my office.

I used floo powder to get to Hogsmeade and was about to enter the Three Broomsticks for lunch when I felt someone tap on my shoulder.

"Jade?"

"Oh my god, Theo! How are you?" I asked, realizing that the last time I saw him was at Blaise and Luna's wedding.

"Better now that you're here," Theo laughed making me swat his arm away from my shoulder and rolled my eyes playfully. "We're you about to get lunch?"

"Yes, actually-"

"Do you mind if I join you?"

I was still upset about walking in on Ryder and Lillian, and Ryder and I were just friends so I found myself nodding my head.

"Not at all."

He smiled and followed me into the pub and we found a seat in the back away from everyone else.

"So, are you still with Ryder?"

I hate this question.

"Um, no. We're just friends," I smiled weakly, wanting to change the subject and I think he noticed my uncomfort.

We talked about work and some old memories from school and before I knew it, it was time for me to head back to work.

Theo offered to bring me back, so we both used floo powder and appeared back at the Ministry.

"This is my office," I smiled, pointing to the door in front of us as he held my hand.

"I had fun today."

"Me too," I smiled and watched as he leaned forward to kiss my forehead and began to blush.

"I'll see you later," he whispered before he turned around and walked away and then I saw him.
