Tears weld up in my eyes as I looked around at the zoo which had become such a big part of my former life. Rick put his hand on my back and when I looked up at him I saw him eyeing me, trying to decide if he had done a good or bad choice doing this.
"Rick" I whispered and cleared my throat, "this is so sweet" I added whispering.
He smiled at me and I smiled up at him despite the tears that ran down my cheeks. I didn't seem to get a grip of them, they just kept on coming. I put my arms around him and buried my face in his chest as I felt him pull me tighter into the hug.
"Told you we could go here... together" Rick said low into my ear and I pulled back to step on my toes and kiss him.
The kiss deepened and I got lost in it. Got lost in how his lips moved against mine. Got lost in the electricity flowing through my veins. Got lost in the connection we shared. I let my tongue brush past his lower lip and he opened his mouth. My hands traveled automatically up his chest and wandered up into his hair. His soft brown hair. His hands landed lower on my back and he gently pulled me closer to his body while a moan slipped through my lips. I heard a giggle somewhere near and I ripped myself away from Rick just to find his daughter standing a few meters away from us looking at us. I felt my cheeks going red and hot when I realized why she was giggling.
"Alexis" Rick said surprised and he ran a hand through his hair. "Wasn't you going to wait at, you know, the spot?" he asked and I looked at him before I turned to Alexis again.
"Yeah, but you're taking so long, I figured I should go see what's keeping you" Alexis said innocently and then she ran off with a happy laugh.
I almost laughed myself because she sounded so happy. But it was embarrassing that Alexis, Rick's daughter, had found me and him making out so fully. I glanced at him and he looked at me with a small embarrassed smile. Then he leaned down and kissed me again before taking my hand and dragging me in the same direction Alexis had gone.
"Where are we going?" I asked and Rick smirked at me. "Come on, tell me" I said and I couldn't help myself from smacking his butt.
He chuckled loud before he stopped and grabbed my face. He slammed his lips on mine and gave me a heated kiss. As he pulled away I had to catch my breath before I could open my eyes to look at him.
"I'll give you one guess" he said still smirking at me and I couldn't help but smile before I shook my head and tried to think.
I tried to think back on everything I had told him, and I figured there could only be one place he would think of taking me to in this way.
"The elephants?" I exclaimed and he laughed, probably because of the glimmering I felt my eyes got a sting of.
"Clever girl" he said and I felt my smile widen into a big grin.
He took my hand and he dragged me towards the laughter of a girl who I knew had to be Alexis. When we got past a corner I saw candles being set on a round table and Alexis stood by the railing to the elephants and I could hear her say something to Martha who stood beside her looking at whatever Alexis was pointing at. On the table was four plates and glasses, there was also something that looked like one of those people serve food on in movies.
"Rick this looks beautiful" I say under my breath.
I was amazed by the way he always seemed to surprise me. Somehow he knew me so well that he knew how to take my breath away with even the simplest of things. I felt his hand squeeze mine and I looked at him. Suddenly a small body bumped into mine and I looked down to see Alexis hugging my body. I bent down and picked her up in my arms.
