Chapter 13

Liv was on the hospital bed when she opened her eyes. She roamed them around the room. Outside the door she saw figures chatting. Her body ached, and so did the her lower stomach. Flashes from that night flood her head. And tears started flow down her eyes.

The doors opened to reveal a tall man. He was in a suit. Liv turned around to look. Her eyes lit up.

"Dad!" She saw her dad and a smile lit up her face.
Benedict hugged her.

"Are you okay? Are you in pain?" He asks

"I'm f-fine" she lies.

He tilts his head knowing she lied but he just didn't want to ask her anymore questions.

"Are you sure?" He asks.
She nods her head.

"Don't worry you'll soon be out of here. The doctors only said they were minor injuries but you've been unconscious for quite a few days" he smiles.

"Did they catch them?" She asked.

Benedict didn't know how to give her the news. They had escaped successfully and they were nowhere to be found.

"They're searching for them all around the country okay?" He says but then her heart beat quickens and you can tell from how fast the heart beat monitor was beeping.

"What of the real Molly and Kieran?" She asks

"Molly was rescued and she's in intensive care at this moment" he says

"What about Kieran" she asks

"He...he was killed. A few months ago" he says.
Liv lowered her eyes.

"Harry. Where's Harry" she asked

"No need to worry. He went to get some coffee. He'll be back soon" Ben assures his daughter.
And that moment Harry walked in.

Harry rushes to kiss his girl.
She never felt so happy.

"I'm sorry" she says. "I put you through all that"

"It's not your fault okay?" He kisses her some more.

"I'll leave you two" Ben excuses himself.

"The doctors discovered something" Harry smiles.

"What is it?" She says sitting up

"You're pregnant"
She sighs in joy. But then it slowly fades away. Kieran or Brandon raped her. And she wasn't about to carry a murderer's child.

"But-"

"I know. But don't worry it's not his. You're 4 weeks along." He says

That made her smile.

There was a slight knock on the door. It opened to reveal Sofia.

"Hey there" she waves coming inside

"Hi" Harry and Liv answer one after the other.
She sits on the other side of Liv.

"So I'm taking up the case" she says.

"What we know at the moment is that the person who was posing as Kieran is Brandon Denvers. He's been wanted for over 4 months now for the rape and murder of his friend Maria Hart. The girl posing as Molly is actually his wife Hermione Denvers" Sofia explains.

"That's just sick" Liv frowns.

"They were last seen in Manchester and last night. They wouldn't be coming close to you. But the only thing is Brandon has a twin brother Henry. Which is tricky. He's had criminal history with drugs but authorities claim he's clean. There's a chance they might go to him for refuge" she explains further.

"Are we going back to our house?" Harry says.

"No. We've got a safe house for you two. It's highly secure and you can stay in there for the mean time." Sofia said.

They nodded their heads.

She stands up and hugs the couple before letting them know that she'll tell them how far they've gone in the search and exiting the room.

There was silence in the room. Harry not Liv wanting to say a word because they knew it would be that topic.

"What if he comes back" she trembled at the mere thought of it

"He won't. The police will find him and make him pay for everything he's done" Harry caresses her arm up and down.

"You promise?" She asks

"I promise you. And I won't leave your side. Not even for a second" he assured her.
