And she's gone...

Kayden's POV
Aiden is angry, like really angry at Chloe. And in a way, as much as I love Chloe, he does sort of have a point. She's disgraced our entire family after hanky-pankying with an Alpha.

In the werewolf world mates were an important part. We needed one to survive. And not waiting for your mate was like you were disrespecting the bond the moon goddess had given, so in a way, you were disrespecting the moon goddess herself.

But Chloe wasn't like that. She loved her mate even if she didn't necessarily know him yet. She had always adored the idea of mates and couldn't wait to find her own.
Which was why Alpha Evans's story seemed weird. If Alesia has been part of the silver moon pack all her life, why was Alpha Evans finding out that she was his mate now when he's almost 20, wolves shifted at 18, so you were able to identify your mate after you shifted. So, either Alpha Evans was lying or he'd not shifted till he turned 20, which was unheard of.

And Chloe rarely visited other packs alone, if she had to go, she dragged along either dad or the two of us. How would she have managed to have a relationship with quite a well known alpha and keep it under wraps?

Knowing that there was only one person who could possibly help me, I went upstairs to Chloe's room.

Aiden's POV
"So this is our pack house, Alpha Evans." I said as I was showing him around. Bryce as the soon to be alpha was supposed to be doing this, but he wasn't going to come today as he'd just found his mate a week ago and was, let's say, preoccupied.

We had only met the Luna once yet but we all felt weirdly complete. And now that she was here, Bryce would take over as Alpha soon.
The entire pack loved her. It was as if she was meant to be here. I knew Bryce was overjoyed at finding her. They both were. Which goes to show how much happiness you bring to your mate by just simply waiting for them. Hope Chloe learnt something from that.

I had strong feelings about mates, mainly because I hadn't met mine yet. But the thought of her with another made my heart turn painfully in my chest. And I didn't want Chloe to make a stupid decision and make her actual mate mad.

"Hey Aiden!" I heard Uncle Rick, our gamma yell as he ran towards us. "Hello Alpha and Luna"He greeted seeing Alpha Evan and his mate.

Pulling me to a side, "Kayden's looking for you,"he whispered in my ear. "He tried mind-linking you but apparently you'd blocked it."

"Yeah, I didn't want to get distracted while I was showing them around." I said gesturing to the waiting Alpha and Luna.

"I'll finish the tour, you go see what your twin wants," he said patting my back.

"I thought you, dad and the alpha were kicking back and relaxing while making us do all the work," I asked

"It's called a trial, kid!" He laughed "But, I can handle this, you go see what Kayden wants, he seemed really troubled."

Both me and my wolf were scared. Kayden was the level-headed, calm one. He was almost never worried. If he was panicking, it meant something big had happened.

Kayden's POV
"Chloe!" I yelled for about the hundredth time knocking at the door! She had absolutely no right to be throwing a fit after she was in the wrong. But as much as I wanted to get mad at her, I felt as if something was terribly wrong.

Finally giving up on her ever opening her door. I pushed against it breaking it down. Perks of being a werewolf! As I entered the room, I noticed that Chloe was nowhere to be seen. Her cupboard was open and surprisingly half empty. For the first time her bed was clean and arranged. The bedsheets spread neatly. The pillows fluffed and kept at the head of the bed. And that's when I noticed the piece of paper on the center of her bed.
