CHAPTER 13

Few minutes later, someone knocked on the door so I had to get up and open. I opened the door and saw Sua. I wasn't expecting this at all so I just said "Sua?"

"Can I enter? I have to tell you some important things..."

I let her enter and then went on the sofa. She followed me and sat down in front of me.

"So what?", I said a bit mad at her.

- Dont be mad, please.. its very serious and I have no choice..

- What do you mean you have no choice?

- I.. I have to..

- You have to what ??

She then looked down. I saw her hands shaking. I wondered what was the problem. She looked up and stared at me, a bit sad.

-Whats wrong Sua? Just tell me, I wont judge or..

- I have to leave.

- Leave? What do you mean by leave?

- I have to leave this city..

- Wait.. What? But why?

- I dont really know how to tell you this..

- Well, you can tell me everything..

- I dont want to leave because..

- You can stay here if it is about your mum..

- You're right it is about my mum, because.. she wants me to marry someone I dont want to..

- Was it the man we saw earlier?

- He's not ! He's just.. my..

- Listen I don't have much time until my mum find and pick me to go back home.. I dont want to leave you but just know.. This man is just a man my mum wants me to get married with..

- But why did she choose a guy for you? I mean we're not in 1990s anymore..

- She wants a man for me.. because..

She looked down again, her hands were still shaking so I knelt in front of her, holding her hands. She was surprised I took her hands and then looked at me in the eyes. It was.. an intense stare. My heart was racing and I could feel my face becoming hot.

- She wants a man for me because I don't like men.. and she..

I hugged her without hearing the end of her sentence. I could feel her tears on my shoulder, so I held her even tighter.

- I get what you mean, but why did you come here to tell me you had to leave and all of that?

- Because you're important to me and I dont want to lose you.

I looked at her in the eyes. I wanted to kiss her, so bad. But what if she already loved someone else..

- You're the only one who's not running away from me. I mean there's also Jieun of course but it's different.. and..

My heart is beating so fast, it's weird. Is it right to have your heart racing like that when you're looking at your friend in her eyes? Is she only my friend?
