"Carl?" I called. The boy who just ran down the stairs had just met my gaze. It was a couple of seconds until my brother brought us back to reality. "Who might this be?" he asked in his southern accent tone. I cleared my throat awkwardly and looked at my brother. His green eyes which my matched mine, his brown side swept hair almost blocking his right eye, and his untouched white skin. "He's my friend my school, relax." I said. Oliver gave me a stern look but nodded. "(y/n), what are you doing here?" Carl asked, "Well, it happens to be that our moms are close." I explained. Carl nodded and went up to my brother. "I'm Carl, I'm sorry if I gave the wrong idea of (y/n) and I." he said. Oliver sighed, "It's fine. It ain't your fault I'm overprotective." He said.

Suddenly, I heard footsteps coming out of the kitchen. "We're going to get out of here. So get ready." my mom said. Oliver got off the couch and stood next to me as I faced the door. "It's gonna be rough out there. Make sure you stay close to me, ok?" he asked, "Like I have no other choice." I said.

Lori opened the door after grabbing a gun and made sure to get us all into her car. The streets were empty, like a ghost town. But once we drove out the neighborhood, there was traffic trying to get out the town. As soon as we hit the highway towards the woods, there was an outbreak of dead people which we luckily escaped. We were drving for what seemed like a long time so we decided to take a break after we thought we were far enough from the neighborhood.

"It's hard to believe that we actually survived through that." my mom conversed with Lori. "Yeah, to be honest, I thought I would die, like Rick." she mumbled. "Wait," I began, "Rick isn't dead is he?" I asked. He couldn't have died! I mean, he's too strong a person! "Well sweety, it's time to face the truth." Lori replied, giving me a sad smile. I looked to Carl, seeing that he was looking at me with a straight face on. I shook my head, "I'm sorry for your loss." I said.

We went back into the car and drove for a couple more miles until we found an RV sitting in the middle of a trail. We got out of the car and inspected the RV from the outside. It was pretty decent, it was a tannish color and had a trim of brown and maroon. I was at the door, about to open it when it suddenly slammed open. "AHH!" I screamed, "(y/n)!" Carl yelled. I fell back but luckily landed in Carl's arms. "You alright?" He asked pulling me away from the RV slightly. "Y-yeah, I just didn't see that coming." I said embarrassed.

I looked at the door that was now open. It was empty from what I could see, but I could hear faint mumbling in the backround. My mom and Lori had already pulled their guns out and pointed it at the door. But slowly, people came out of the RV.
