Chapter 2: An Escape: Part 1

I gasped horrified as I watched the video taper fall to the ground with a loud thump. The mob of people who gathered around the man who was now eating someone backed away and ran for their lives. I guess the 'zombie' got tired of the meal he was munching on and decided to look for more humans to eat. I looked over my shoulder to see a terrified Quinn. "Quinn, you alright?" I asked her. God, why am I so stupid! To ask a pretty pointless question when you literally could see the situation! "Uh, I'm going to, uh, go home now! TO STAY ALIVE." she yelled at me. 

I watched as she ran. I also ran towards the parking lot to see my mom sitting in the car with my brother Oliver. As soon as I invited myself in they looked at me confused. "What's up kiddo?" Oliver asked. My mom looked at me with a worried expression. "We need to get home, now!" I screamed. My mom drove out the parking lot to come face to face with a zombie. She ended up running over it. She seemed to understand why I was so freaked out. 

"Ok you two! As soon as we get home you go straight to your rooms and pack clothes! Clear?" She asked while half yelling. I nodded and looked out the window to see that we escaped my school's premesis. My mom pulled over in the driveway to our house. I ran into my house not giving a care in the world. I ran up to my room and grabbed a backpack and packed random clothes. I grabbed for a few hair ties and ran out my room to see my brother on his way out too. 

"Ready (y/n)?" He asked. I nodded and ran downstairs to see my mom packing her clothes and some food. Suddenly, I saw her cock a gun. The one my father used before he passed. "Ok! We're going to check in with Lori and Rick ok?" she said. I nodded frantically. "Ollie, do me a favor and grab a few bottles of water?" she asked, "Yes ma'am." He called before stuffing three bottles into his backpack. 

We abandoned our house and ran a few houses down. Lori and Rick were my mom's best friends ever since we moved here. Though I never met them personally. I was always staying in the house with my dad and Oliver. But nevermind that.

My mom ran up a porch and knocked on the door. "Lori? Rick? Carl?" she called. Hold up, Carl? Isn't he that kid I met? The door opened to reveal a woman who was pretty thin and had deep, long, brown hair which matched perfectly with pale skin. "Florence! Come in! Come in!" the woman yelled. I never hear my mom's name, though this was acceptable. After we walked in the woman closed then locked the door. "Ok, kids this is Lori." my mom  explained. "Her husband is Rick, but I have no idea where he is." she continued. 

I nodded seeming to understand. The two moms walked into the kitchen to leave me and my brother to talk in the living room. But before I could say a word, a certain boy ran down the stairs. "(y/n)?" he called, "Carl?".

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! CLIFF HANGER! lewl jk jk. So there's going to be parts of when they try to escape to the woods and stuff. Sorry if this is too short or too long. I just felt that if I made it detailed it would be more exciting. But I hope you like it? I'll be updating everyday, one chapter per day.
