January 2021.-Ava-
The guys are back in the studio most nights so I am home alone more than usual. Calum always makes sure he is home though. I have been helping Crystal with finishing up her wedding planning and she has been giving me ideas for mine. So I either at her and Michael's place or here at home with her. I was never close to Crystal until now, we were so different in many ways so we would never hangout by ourselves. "Since Calum is Michael's best man I'll have you two walk down the aisle together instead of my maid of honor." Crystal writes down in her binder. "That's so sweet. Thank you." I smile to her. We finished a bottle of wine while we finished the late night planning. Calum enters the house throwing his jacket on the couch as throwing himself on it "Hi babe." I said from the dining room. Calum groans, "I think that's my cue to leave." Crystal chuckles as she gathered her things. "Wedding is in a couple weeks Calum, you need to get the guys to their tux fittings, bye loves." Crystal yells as she walks out the front door.
I walk to the couch and pull Calum off of it so we can go the bedroom. "Rough day?" I ask while walking beside him up the stairs. He nods. He picks up Duke and put him on the bed. "We couldn't come up with anything today." Calum undresses before getting into bed with me and Duke. We all snuggle up in bed "You guys will come up with something." I kissed his cheek, I leaned over to turn off the lamp before we fall asleep.
Calum's alarm went off to start his day which he had off. I got up when he did, Calum went to go workout so I took it upon myself to make him something to eat. I watched him through the windows as he worked out. He looks like a greek god and somehow I am marrying this man. I found myself biting my lip at the sight of hot and sweaty Calum. I resume back to making his breakfast that smells so good to eat. I can't eat this because I have to lose weight for my wedding and also look good for Crystal's wedding. I brewed coffee for the both of us and I made his plate as he came in from outside. "You didn't have to." Calum appreciates my cooking. "I wanted to." I winked at him while taking a drink of my coffee. "Baby eat something." Calum offers some of his food. I turned him down "Not apart of my diet sorry." I finished off my coffee and washing my mug. I walked up to our bathroom and got in shower hoping Calum would jump in too.
"I haven't seen you eat a real meal in a long time." Calum said behind in the shower, I turn my back to the water as I washed out my conditioner. I roll my eyes at him. I take his body wash start washing his body as he does the same with me. "I need to loose weight. I am down 10 pounds which is really good." I say to him, he shakes his head in disapproval. Typical. "Calum...I have some news." I look up to him, "You're pregnant?" Calum panics, I laugh and shook my head no. "No. I got into Stanford med school." I say. Calum is quiet as he finished showering. I stood there waiting for him to answer me. He turns off the water and walks out the shower with the towel wrapped around his waist.
I quickly wrapped up in my towel and follow him in his closet. "Calum?" I whined as I watched him dress. "It's a hard medical school to get in." I say before leaving him to himself. I walk in my closet and shut the door to it. Why can't he be proud of me? I feel like I am ready to go back to school and finish my doctorate. I quickly dress myself before walking out and having to face him. I opened the door to Calum standing with his arms crossed "Why didn't you discuss going back to school with me?" He asks, I scoff and moved past him. "Ava. This involves your future which I am apart of. Why?" Calum follows me out the bedroom and downstairs to the living room. "I don't know! I just applied to see what happens. I didn't have much hope in getting in. It was impulsive. I'm sorry." I opened my laptop and checked my emails.
"Are you going?" Calum shuts my laptop so I have to look at him. "I want to since you guys are going on tour this year so it will give me something to do." I say to him. "Ava I was going to take you on tour with us. We wanted you to be our stage manager since you have theatre experience." Calum announces. I am stunned that they want me to work with them. "Really? I haven't done much tech since my first semester of college." I asked. "Yes. We want someone who gets us and knows how to make a great show." Calum smiles. I practically lunge at him to kiss his lips. "Is that a yes?" Calum asks. "I can always defer my acceptance." I went back to kissing him.
"I'll text our production manager." Calum pulls out his phone. I felt excited to be their stage manager for the tour. "I need to go refresh myself on tech." I go to the bookshelf pull out my old theatre textbooks. "I'll leave you to it." Calum kisses my head leaving me to studying like I was in college again. I opened up my technical theatre book and a note fell out. I picked the sticky note. It was a silly note from Kat when I had classes with her. 'Don't forget me when you're a hot shot broadway techie. -yours, KAT'
I smiled and put in the textbook. I wished I finished school as a theatre major but I had to pursue my dream job.
