Vegeta strode along the palace, the threat from the tyrant was slowly eating away at him. It bothered him to have such care and feelings towards his unborn offspring. His father had drilled it into his head how it is uncanny to show any form of affection towards their own.

However, the more time he spent with his third class mate, the more he was starting to have more feelings, more care, something he hadn't ever shown before. Or perhaps he had these feelings all along but was just too prideful to admit.

Vegeta clenched his teeth and leaned against one of the stained glass windows, while Kakarot and his father were in the banquet hall, he chose to excuse himself for he had lost his appetite through the stress. In fact, he hadn't slept well since he returned hearing Frieza's threat relay in his mind.

His mind went completely numb as he stared out the stained window with a solemn expression. A light tap on his shoulder caused him to flinch and spin on his heel and instantly go into a stance ready to attack. He composed himself as he saw Letta stood there in bewilderment by his startled reaction and gave him a nervous smile.

"Please forgive me for startling you, I was beckoned by the King to inform you that your mate has returned to the chamber."

"What has that got to do with me?!"

"Well—" Letta pursed her lips and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "It is mainly due to the fact that your mate is also bearing the future heir, therefore it is crucial for us all to ensure he is comfortable and well rested at all times."

Vegeta folded his arms and turned to face the window again, "I see."

It was peculiar why he was even informed of something that he had no business on knowing. It was the servant's job to be there and assure Kakarot was comfortable at all times. Then again — he'd be lying to himself if he wasn't the least bit worried and also wanted to ensure his mate was well looked after. He gritted his teeth and bashed his fist against the wall next to the window. So many conflicting emotions engulfing his mind it was hard for him to concentrate on the more important matters. Vegeta's thoughts were interrupted by Letta clearing her throat.

"If you would like, I can always check up on him if you are currently occupied at the moment."

"No!" He blurted and hastily spun on his heel. He could see the surprised look on Letta's face as she took a modest step backward and gaped at him. "It's fine, I was actually going to head back there myself."

He let out a meager grunt and stormed past her towards his chamber, his heart leaping as he got closer, which induced him to scrunch his face up and place his hand on his chest. What were these feelings? Why was he caring about this low class saiyan?

On entering the room the doors leading to the balcony were wide open allowing a gentle breeze circulating the room. Vegeta raised a brow as he quietly closed the door behind him and ambled towards the bed. As he approached it, he noticed it was empty and he knitted his brows together.

Soft footsteps were heard from the bathroom, as he spun to face the bathroom he saw Kakarot walking out with a towel wrapped around his waist. Kakarot blushed when they made eye contact and he stood still with the tip of his tail flicking in curiosity.

Natural lights from outside shone onto Kakarot's body, complementing his sinewy figure that Vegeta was having a hard time keeping his eyes off him. Neither spoke as Vegeta trailed his eyes over Kakarot's firm legs up to his broadened shoulders before staring back at the curious glint in Kakarot's obsidian eyes.

"Do you remember much of our mating?" Vegeta questioned, his lips curved into a sly smirk when Kakarot gulped and crimson crept up his face.

"Only a little," Kakarot admitted with a brief smile.
