Flashback.

Kakarot threw himself to the ground next to his mother, tears rivulated down leaving white streaks down his reddened cheeks .

"Come on brother, we have to let her go," Raditz tried to coax Kakarot away again to no avail.

Guards rushed round to try to pull kakarot away. Kakarot growled and pushed them away and shot them with a warning glare. This startled the guards and Raditz, they felt an upsurge in power level from the beta and chose to take a step backward to allow the young cub time to mourn for his mother.

Kakarot held his mother's hand, he wished he could have stayed with her, he wished he hadn't listened to his brother and hid, perhaps then he'd have been able to save her. On looking down at his mother's face, he could see the anguish in her eyes and markings around her neck. It pained him to see, and guilt surged through his body as he felt he should have been there to protect her. Kakarot used his index finger and thumb to close his mother's eyelids before pecking her on her forehead. Raditz carefully stepped forward to remove the chain with the heart pendant from around their mothers neck, to hand over to his father once he returned. Kakarot stayed by his mother's side for a little longer while trying to dry away the remainder of his tears.

The one person in his life who understood him more than anyone else, and never discouraged him from being himself — was taken away from him and it left him feeling lost...

Kakarot shot up shaking with cold sweats and tears forming in his eyes, and rested the palm of his hand on his chest feeling his heart beating a thousand beats per second.

It was the same flashback he'd get and he would relive those emotions each time. Just after he wiped his tears away, he brought out his mother's pendant that was tucked inside his top. Recalling the times his mother told him he was to do greater things than fight. He clenched the pendant tightly, while looking opposite the room to see the Prince asleep. Why would his mother agree to something like this? He glared at the sleeping Prince before slowly picking himself up and sauntering into the en-suite bathroom to throw cold water onto his face.

Kakarot winced as he felt a cramp down the side of his neck, it didn't surprise him to feel discomfort considering he had fallen asleep on the floor. Both himself and the Prince protested to leave the corners of the room as a result the two ended up given into sleep.

There was a gentle knock from the door, Kakarot quickly splashed cold water onto his face before entering  the bedroom to see the Prince still asleep, there was another knock that caught Kakarot's attention towards the door.

"Um... hello?" Kakarot softly answered.

"Oh you both still alive then, haven't killed each other" Nappa chuckled from behind the door.

Kakarot pursed his lips and glanced back at the sleeping Prince before back at the door.

"Not yet" Kakarot sighed, scratching back of his head, he felt and heard his stomach growl, "think you could bring us something to eat?" Kakarot wrapped his arms around his abdomen.

Nappa chortled, "I thought you'd happily starve than get along with the prince" he was leaning against the bedroom door opposite side, he could hear the Beta male whine a little.

"Oh come on, please! I promise I won't tell on you" kakarot whined by the door.

Nappa erupted into a fit of laughter that startled the prince, Vegeta jumped up at his feet watching kakarot on his knees with his forehead leaning on the bedroom door.
