If my first week at Hogwarts is any tell of how my year will be I'm in for a long one.

Thousands of rumors.

Two detentions.

One very hard to win bet.

And on this rainy Friday I was learning to block out the whispers and stares and tried to get some work done in the library before my second detention.

"What time will you be back? The party starts at 8" Pansy asked next to me. Playing with her quill and parchment rather than studying.

"I don't know Pans, hopefully with enough time to get ready." I sighed still writing down details on charms.

"Well if it's before 8 come by my room and we can get ready together. But I am not going to wait. I don't want to miss out on the goods, I hear they run out within an hour" she snorted and started carving into the table with her quill.

"You're going to get in trouble" I murmur.

"Oh shut it" I laughed and my gaze fell off my book for a moment.

"Shit we haven't even eaten and my detention is in fifteen minutes" I said trying to pack up quickly after my eyes caught the clock.

"You have time to grab something really quick.."

"I don't have time to get all the way to the great hall then back to McGonagall's room. I'll just skip for tonight." Shoving the last of my things into my bag and stood up. "See you later" I sang to her.

"Wear something hot" she sang back.

"For you or Luke?" I joked with her. She just shrugged.

"Both" I rolled my eyes and turned back. I got to McGonagall's with five minutes to spare and sat down in the same place I had just three days ago.

"Long time no see Ross" I hear Draco's smug voice from the doorway.

"I saw you two hours ago Malfoy" I scoffed tapping my fingers onto the table. He had come up behind me and pulled the chair out, getting ready to sit when McGonagall entered.

"No need to get comfy. You will be helping Hagrid tonight" she said waving her hand to go outside.

As we made our way there I looked at the sky, though the sun hadn't fully set yet you could hardly tell the difference. The already dark sky was covered in grey clouds. The breeze and earthy smell made it clear it was about to start raining again. It had only stopped for twenty minutes or so.

McGonagall knocked on his door when we arrived, Malfoy and I standing to the side of her.

"Evening Hagrid, your troublemakers" McGonagall said gesturing to us "why don't you let them know what they'll be doing" she said before moving aside.

"You'll be replantin my Valerian Spriggs. I brought out the Nifflers fer the fourth years, messed up my stash real bad." He handed us a box of potted plants and pointed to his garden.

"It's about to rain again" Draco scowled.

"Well you should have thought about that before you acted out. You should be more responsible as head boy Mr. Malfoy." I saw Draco roll his eyes in my peripheral vision. "Once you're done planting you're free to go." She said adding in her farewells to Hagrid and walking back to the castle.

"I'd stay out there with ya but... it's about to rain you see" Hagrid said softly.

"You-" Draco was about to say something disrespectful so I pushed the box of plants into Draco's arms and looked at him with a glare before setting my gaze back at to Hagrid
