Evermore : Louis Partridge

part 12: christmas eve

"MILLIE!" I screamed, embracing Millie. Me, Louis, Aasia, Noah and Max were all at her house. Aasia and Noah were beaming and once I had pulled out of the hug they went to introduce themselves. I stayed back with Louis, watching them talk about stranger things and different theories. Obviously, Millie couldn't confirm them but it was still entertaining watching them beg for answers. We had spent the whole day shopping in London and everyone was looking forward to tonight. 

"Come on," someone said, grabbing my arm and pulling me into another room. It was Lou, of course. The room looked like a family room and we lounged on one of the couches. "Among us?" He asked.

"Okay." We played a few rounds, until the rest of us came into the room.

"Let's watch a movie!" Millie said, starting (what looked like) a popcorn machine and sitting down next to me. "How are you?"

"I'm good. I saw the trailer and you were amazing. I can't wait to watch it." I smiled.

"I'm happy you liked it. Y'know, I might be able to get you it before they release it. We can all watch it together." She said, getting up again to retrieve the popcorn.

"Of course!" I exclaimed .

"What're you guys talking about?" Louis asked as Millie came back and turned on the movie, 'Casablanca', I loved the film.

"Enola Holmes, we should all watch it together." I whispered and he nodded. The movie started to play and I saw Aasia scroll through tiktok, bored. I couldn't stay mad at her. I had no reason to be mad at her. I got up and sat next to her. "Hey," I started and she looked up at me.

"Hey."

"Do you not like the movie?" I whispered.

"I'm not going to lie, but Millie is kinda boring" She laughed and I scoffed at her

"You don't know her."

"I get it."

"Get what?"

"You're jealous of me being friends with them."

"Who?"

"Louis and Millie."

"Erm- first of all you just said she was boring. And I'm not jealous."

"Then why are you acting like that?" I was annoyed now, she was getting on my nerves. I stayed in silence until she spoke again, "y/n?"

"I'm not jealous. It's not like me and Lou are dating." I chuckled and she frowned.

"But I know you like him. I mean who wouldn't? He's an actor, a model, smart, he's hot-"

"Okay, stop right there. I don't like him!" The last part I said a little too loudly and I caught Louis looking at me. I looked away and focused my eyes on Aasia. "Just- let's watch the movie. Okay?" I turned around to face the tv screen and for the remaining part of the movie, the room was silent. It was 10 now, and Aasia, Noah and Max were yawning.

"It's christmas eve lighten up!" I said, encouragingly.

"I dont know y/n. I'm so tired." Noah was on the verge of falling.

"But it's christmas eve!"

"Yes it is, and I want to be up early to open presents. See you tomorrow." Noah said, putting on his jacket as Aasia and Max started to head out. I waved goodbye and jumped back on the couch. Millie and Louis were talking about something, but I couldn't help but stare at Louis. He was beautiful. I mean, his bone structure, his eyebrows, his hair, his complexion. He skated, he played piano, he was so sweet, and he was really smart too. He was an amazing friend. Louis looked up and smiled at me and I smiled back.

"I think it's time for some hot cocoa and a christmas movie." Millie suggested and I nodded happily.

"Me and y/n will get the drinks." He said.

"Then I'll find a movie."

Me and Louis got up together and walked out of the room.

"What were you talking about with Aasia?" He asked, pulling out the milk from the fridge and heating it up.

"Eh- some girl things."

"Oh."

"Yeah."

"I feel like you're being weird with me."

"I'm not!" I replied.

"If you say so." He frowned but quickly smiled, "I'm excited for tomorrow." He said cheerfully and I smiled.

"Me too. I'm so excited for you to see the present I got you!" I grinned. I had wrapped the skateboard as well as I could, but the wheels still stuck out.

"Me too, I just finished wrapping all of them today. You're coming to mine right?"

"Of course, partridge. I'm only coming for Issie and Millie though." I laughed.

"They're excited to see you." The hot chocolates were done and we started to walk back to the room. "For you," He gave one to Millie and she graciously nodded.

"I chose 'A christmas Prince'"

"I love that one!" I layed down next to Louis and put my head in his lap. "Don't spill any hot chocolate on me!" I said. He chuckled

"I can't promise anything." He said, smirking.

"I feel like I'm third wheeling." Millie said and we all laughed.

"Come here!" I grabbed her hand and she scooched over to where we were sitting. We watched the movie and I watched Louis slowly drift away to sleep. "I think he's asleep." I said, poking his arm to see if he reacted.

"Gilmore girls?" She asked, and I nodded. It was probably one of my favorite shows. We watched a few episodes until I started to fall asleep too.

"Get up Lou." I nudged him.

"What is it?" He said, stretching as I got up.

"We need to go home now." I put on my jacket and pushed him up from his seat. Millie was asleep, so I turned off the tv and me and Louis rushed out of the room. "Shhh" I said, careful not to wake Millie's parents. We walked out of the back door and once we were sure we were outside we started to talk.

"It's 2 am in the morning!" He exclaimed, checking his watch. "Let's just catch a taxi." We waited for a taxi outside of the neighborhood and got into the first one that came up.

"When did I fall asleep?" He asked.

"Right after we started the movie!" I giggled. I put my head on his shoulder all the way back to our houses. After 20 minutes we got to our neighborhood and we stumbled out of the taxi. "We probably look like we're drunk." I said, combing my hair with my fingers. I didn't want to look like I was a drunk teenager that just had with him. We were close to my house so I waved goodbye.

"I'll see you in the morning." He said, walking away.

"Goodnight love you!" I blurted out. I realized what I had said, and he turned around and waved. There was a good chance he hadn't heard me, but even if he didn't, it was still weird. I told myself to stop overthinking, and I went home.

Author's note: how do you guys feel about this chapter? It's kinda boring, but I like how it ties up some loose ends. I'm trying to be more detailed about stuff so this chapter might seem a little weird, lol.

Im going out of town tmrw morning! I'm not taking my laptop so I'm probably just going to write the next few chapters on my phone, which is probably better. Goodnight xx.
