Chapter 26

I laughed with Isabel as we sat on the couch watching mean girls. It was 8:00 at night and neither of us where doing anything so we decided to hang out.

Since the mating games which was yesterday, Xavier and I told his mom and dad that we were mates, one of the first things his dad said to him was, 'well now I guess you are both Alpha and Luna.'

I'm pretty sure he is happy that he pasted down his position to his son. His mom was happy as well, she was all excited about when I finally get introduced to the pack. I mean, I already know the pack but.. I never imagined being their Luna!

I'm so surprised at how fast this all was! Meeting bradley, moving into his pack, running away, joining this pack, and then meeting my mate. I'm amazed.

"Harper." Isabel snapped me out of train of thoughts.

"Huh?" I asked.

"The doorbell rang." she said, not taking her eyes off the tv while shoving a handful of popcorn into her mouth.

"Why didn't you get it?" I asked. she didn't say or do anything so I just got up and walked to the door myself.

"Hi-" I smiled and began to greet them once I opened the door but nobody was there. My eyebrows furrowed together in confusion. The cold wind blew my hair all around my face making a chill run down my back.

I looked at the ground and saw the pizza box that I ordered from a small bakery in the pack with a note stuck to it. I peeled the of the note and opened it.

Harper, do you smell that? That sent is your future and this packs. I'm coming and I'll take down this pack.

My heart stopped. I was froze in fear. Only at that moment I listened to the note. I sniffed the air as much as I could. The smell came to me as if I was hit with a brick. I smelt blood and lots of it. I started gagging at how strong it became.

"Harper, what are you-" Isabel said while walking to where I was but I turned around to see the most fearful look on her face. She smells it to?

She looked at me still scared. "Is that blood?" She asked.

I swallow hard and nod.

I started walking outside to check out what's going on as Isabel followed me.

We ended up walking a little bit into the woods until I stopped dead in my tracks. I saw something swinging in the corner of my eyes. Is somebody standing there or hanging there..?

My thoughts were answered when I heard Isabel scream.

I turned my head to face her, making sure she is okay but she was in pure shock. I looked over to what she was staring at... I almost died.

I saw Jack. Hanging by a rope tied to a tree. My body tingled with fear and my blood ran cold. I started breathing heavy, not believing what I am seeing. I turned to Isabel and I honestly think I saw her heart break right in front of me.

"MY MATE! NO!!" She scream and ram towards him. She jumped up and down trying to reach for him. Trying to get him down. She quickly shifted into her wolf and cut him down with her claws before changing back.

As Jack fell down his insides splattered every on the ground. Isabel grabbed his hands trying to get him to wake up as if he was just sleeping.

"Please, don't leave me hear, please, I love you jack!" She shouted while choking on tears.

That's when reality hit me. I ran over to Isabel and grabbed her hand trying to get her to stand up. Seeing her so broken and my wolf howling inside of me, I cried. I started crying hard.

"XAVIER! HELP! SOMEBODY!!" I scream as loud as I can.

Isabel stopped crying and gasped.
I stared at her not knowing what happened to her.

She looked up at me and I could see in her eyes that she will never be the same again.

"He's gone Harper, the one I belong with and the one who belongs with me is gone, never coming back.." she whispered.

I cried with her as I held onto her. Jack was a good friend of mine and as his Luna I was supposed to help him. I was supposed to keep the pack safe, this is all my fault. If it wasn't for me, Jack would be alive and Isabel wouldn't be broken, how will the rest of the pack react to this. oh my god! I ruined the pack. Bradley did this, if I would have just stayed and left here, everyone would be happy.

"We need to get help." I whisper to Isabel as I help her up.

She cried harder into my shoulder as we walked to the pack.

I saw Xavier with a group of warriors looking worried while running to us.

"What happened? What's wrong?" He asks studying my face then looking at Isabel.

"We lost Jack. We lost a pack member." I say not meeting his eyes.

"What where?" He asks.

"Woods." was all I could say. The group of warriors shifted and ran of into the woods.

Isabel was still crying furiously and I was holding all of her weight and she was starting to get heavier. Xavier noticed this and picked her up as she stared off into the woods, hope filled her eyes that her mate would come back. But because of me, she doesn't have a mate anymore.

Holy moly that was emotional! Poor Isabel, that's really sad.

How are you guys? I really hope you guys liked that chapter even if It was sad.

Did you guys have a snow day? I did and thank goodness I did! I didn't finish my homework which I still need to do..
