"You found your mate to?" I asked Max as we walked through the woods after running. The green trees swaying back and forth because of the warm wind. The sky was actually quite clear making it the bluest I have ever seen.

What is up with people finding their mates all of a sudden?

Yesterday after lunch I stayed inside and talked to people I haven't seen in while. It was great catching up, nothing really changed. Grace still hasn't found her mate and grandma is doing fine, the pack is happy and everything is going great.

"Yep." he said smiling brightly.

I can't believe he found his mate! I haven't really pictured Max with a mate, I don't know why but it seems weird.

"Well tell me about her! Who is she?" Im getting really excited, Max was not shy at all but he never really ever got serious with a girl so this is crazy.

"Her name is Clair, she has this beautiful long dark hair and the most amazing eyes, she's not to tan or to pale. She is so sweet and funny, you would LOVE her." he said smiling bigger then I have ever seen before with his eyes glowing with excitement and happiness.

I am happy that he found his mate but.. Clair. CLAIR! The girl bradley cheated on me with and marked. Fucking Clair.

It always has to be Clair. If the moon goddess truly cares about me then it won't be the one I know. What am I think? There is no way that Max is mates with a slutty hoe that doesn't care about anyone or anything.

I feel bad for saying that about somebody but I can't help it when it's the truth.

"Clair. Do you have a picture of her or something?" I asked.

"No, but I can introduce you both, she joined our pack."

"What pack did you find her in?" I asked.

"She wasn't in a pack, she was rouge." he said scratching his neck.

Rouge? It can't be the same Clair then.

I sighed of relief and nodded motioning for him to introduce us. I'd be glad to meet his mate. I smiled to myself picturing her in my head.

She must be sweet and funny, I bet she's a little shorter then Max. They are probably the cutest couple ever.

[...]

We got to his pack house and the guards immediately let me into the pack house. Max was right nothing really changed.

I heard laughter coming from the kitchen as Max and I walked through the large living room and into the kitchen.

My grandma was cooking something and my sister was laughing with the girl at the island in the middle of the room.

"Clair I want you to meet someone." Max announced next to me.

Everyone turned around to look at me as shock took over their features.

I didn't get to see what Clair looked like because of a pile of hair jumping towards me blocked my view.

"Harper!! I missed you how have you been?!" Grace exclaimed as her grip on me tightened.

"Good, how have you been?" I asked back. I never told her about bradley or that I ran away. The reason why I didn't run here is because if bradley were to ever come chasing after me, this would be the first place he would go.

"Great!" She smiled and pulled away but still leaving her hands on my shoulders. Her green eyes twinkled with excitement.

"Oh Harper, we've all missed you." Grandma said while pulling in for a hug that was not at all as tight as grace did.

"I missed you as well grandma." I whispered while smiling. Her hair was white and long, crinkles popped up by her blue eyes as she smiled.

"Clair as I said this is Harper." Max said as grandma and Grace stood out of the way.

Clair turned around to face me, making her dark brown hair whip over her shoulder as she looked at me, and at that very moment, everything turned into slow motion.

It was her. The very same Clair that was marked by my mate and mated with my mate before I even did, and thank the moon goddess I didn't.

She seemed extremely shocked to see me yet I wasn't because deep down, I knew it was going to be her. I knew that things just had to go my way and be the girl that I absolutely hated with all of my heart.

"Clair, so nice to meet you!" I fake smiled as my eyes showed anger that was glaring into hers but disappeared to that nobody else knew my feelings about her.

I walked over to her and hugged her hating every moment I was near her.

"Nice to meet you to, Harper." she said with her expression going from shock to smug as a smirk was placed on her face.

Her green eyes glittered with happiness and amusement because she knows how much she has put me through.

Dear Moon Goddess,
I truly believe you made a mistake with Max's mate.

As much as I love him and I want him to be happy... just not with her! She's the devil pure evil.

"I have to go back to work but you should hang out!" Max said before kissing Clair on the lips good bye and leaving.

"Ya. Lets go hang out." Clair said with a fake smile as she took my hand and practically dragged me out of the house.

We walked out back into the woods and followed the little trail that lead from the pack house to a lake that we use for the mating games.

The mating games are for the werewolves that even after 17 they still have yet to find their mate.

I guess this year I would have to go because I'm seventeen and I no longer have a mate or I have yet to still find him.

I could hear birds chirping as the cold wind blew my hair in my face. The green trees swayed back and forth lightly.

"I'm can't believe Max was mated with the you."

"Easy, I wanted to talk to you about Bradley." she said. I could hear in her voice that she was annoyed.

Yea well so was I!

"There is nothing to talk about." I said as I stared right in front of me, not sparing her a glance.

"I wanted to say that I was sorry that he marked me. I didn't mean for it to go that far."

"You know what, I don't have to hear this. Your a slut and he's a coward. I can't stand people like you and him."

"He banished me from the pack. That's why Max found me as a rouge." she said completely ignoring what I had said.

"What is the actual reason that you are talking to me?" I said flatly. I have no intention for talking to this girl by she is making me mad.

"He's coming you know."

"What?" I said; actually looking at her. Her eyes showed no amusement only seriousness.

"He's coming for you. I heard him talking to his pack and the guards about their plan."

He's coming for me.. How is one person supposed to fight a whole pack.

That's one against hundreds.

I know I belong to another pack now but they can't go into war for me, for one person.

He's going to get me.. what do I do? Do I surrender? I don't know what to do now.

I stayed silent as we turned around and ran back to the pack house with the sticks and rocks crunching beneath us.

[...]

I laid in bed starring at the white ceiling.

A war. The Moon Goddess just had to give me a war. How the hell am I supposed to fight?

I sighed in frustration and turned on my stomach resting my head on my pillow.

What if I went rouge. I could become a lone wolf. But that's stupid I'd be vulnerable if I were rouge.

I don't know what I am going to do.
