"I forgot to ask, where are we going? And can't bradley just find us because of our scent?" Isabel asked.
The sun was now rising and we still haven't made it to the blood howler pack.
"We are going to a pack that I know very well and to answer your second question, he can't follow our scents if we are consumed in his sent. This is his car." I laughed a little at my last sentence. I wonder what he'll do when he wakes up and knows that both of us are gone and he can't find his car and he can't do anything about it.
"What pack is it?"
"Blood Howler Pack." I said plainly.
"What?! They're one of the most deadly packs there are!" She exclaimed, her voice and face expressions laced with fear.
"Don't worry alpha Mason is a really nice guy." I say smiling. When I was younger he would play with me and he would throw me up in the air and catch me and he was like a second dad.
Isabel's eyes grew wider and her mouth fell down even farther.
"They kill millions of packs! Millions!!" She exclaimed.
"Well then I guess those packs shouldn't have attacked him." I said.
All of a sudden I felt a sharp pain in my neck. My heat must be really bad right now.
I brought my right hand off the wheel and placed it on my neck. I new it wasn't my heat once if felt my mark changing. My eyes grew wild and I started breathing heavily, what's going on?! Am I dying?!"Isabel what's going on with my neck?!" I rushed out and flipped my hair over my shoulder.
"Oh my gosh!! Your mark is gone!! It looks like a scab now." she gasped, covering his mouth.
"What?!" I screamed and swerved off the road. How fast we jerked started me so I quickly stomped of the break and the car came to an immediate stop.
"H-how is it gone?!" I gasp while looking at in the mirror.
"Is that possible?" I ramble on.
"I don't know why it's doing that, I mean that what happen to Clair when he marked her and that happened because they aren't mates, you don't think-" Isabel said in a rush when I cut her off.
"Bradley and I aren't mates anymore!!!" I shouted, half excited half surprised. He isn't my mate anymore.. I.. them who is?!
I whimpered, I just want my mate, yet I don't even know who it is anymore. That's when I noticed something. The pain of my heat hadn't stopped. My leg was still aching and now it hurts even worst because I'm farther away from my mate.
"At least Bradley's not your mate anymore, your new one will help you." Isabel said smiling while placing her hand on my shoulder.
"Thank you." I said smiling. She's right, I won't be beaten or cheated on, hopefully.
I drove off the grass that we were parked on and continued our journey.
I couldn't stop thinking about how bradley isn't my mate anymore.. somebody else is my mate.
[...]
It was now 8:00 am and we are now pulling into the Blood Howler Pack.
I'm kind of nervous because even tho Alpha Mason and I are friends, he is still an alpha. We pulled up to the pack house. It was like a giant cabin. No doubt it was extremely gorgeous. The walls were made of wood and the lights made it look cozy.
We got out of the car and pulled out our duffle bags. Once we got to the large door, I knocked and two guards showed up.
"Hi I'm Harper, a friend of Alpha Masons."I say, hoping they will let us in.
The guard on the right looked over to the guard on the right, and the guard on the right shook his head and growled at me.
"Tim, jack, let the girls in." I heard alpha Mason say.
They opened the door wider and let us through. Isabel was hesitant while I just came right in.
"Hello Alpha Mason." I say and smile at him while bowing. His crystal green eyes light up and he smiles brightly at us, making little crinkles by his eyes pop up.
"Oh Harper I haven't seen you in years!" He exclaims while pulling me in for a hug.
"And who is this?" He questions as we pull away, turning to Isabel.
"This is my friend Isabel." I smile as she bows.
"It's nice to meet you Isabel." he smiles and shakes her hands. She was hesitant at first but shook his hand anyway.
"We would like to discuss something with you." I plead.
"Alright well let's talk in my office." he says as he turns around and heads down the hall with is following.
Hung on the walls were pictures of him, his mate Kate, and their son Xavier. Xavier took after his dad with his eyes and muscle but had blond hair and a smile like his moms. He and I used to play with each other when we were younger. He is 2 or 3 years older then me so he would be 19 or 20 now.
Once we got to his office, we sat down in the leather chairs in front of his wooden desk while he took a seat behind his desk.
"What can I help you with?" He asks with a smile.
"We would like to ask you if we may join your pack." I say getting right to the point. He looks extremely taken back by wha I said.
"Pardon?"
"May we join your pack?"
"W-what for? Where's your pack?" He asks curiously.
"I met my ex mate and so I moved into their pack but then he marked another girl and started beating me and I left before if got even more out of hand."
"Where does Isabel here come into the picture?"
"She caught me leaving and didn't want him as an alpha so we both left."
He looks shocked at all the news we just put on him.
"Your ex mate?" He asks clearly confused.
"On the way to your pack house, my mark stated to change and now it's disappearing and you only have your mates mark when they ARE your mate, which means we aren't mates anymore."
He nods and thinks for a moment then sighs.
"I've known you for a long time harper.. and I trust you.. please don't make me regret letting you both join the pack." he says and I smile widely.
I look over at Isabel and she seems shocked. I know she was doubting that he would let us stay.
"Thank you so much alpha Mason!"
"Let Tim show you both to your room." he says and motions to the door where the guard from the left is standing.
Tim is a red head and looks 25 or something. He nods his head motioning for us to follow him.
We stand up and push in our chairs.
I feel like that happened really fast, going from my pack to Bradley's pack and now to the Blood Howlers.
