30 Days Before Heading to China...

Before the Bunny Incident...

"Well, hot damn," Mila said in English as I adjusted my collar for the nth time.

I glared at her and cleared my throat, reminding her that Corporal Franklin was still walking next to her. She glanced over at him and grimaced. He gave her a look.

"It's not like he can say anything," she replied.

"It's still unprofessional, and you've said that ten times now," I replied in English as well. "Besides, Dr. Morrison would be furious if you were to insult her favorite Corporal."

Corporal Franklin sighed and spoke in English. "Must you really put my relationship with her out there to the public ears?"

"Yes," Mila replied.

We were currently walking down to the hallways of the Council Headquarters where we'd receive our rewards in front of the entire Council and their peers. The minute we walked into that hall, good God, it was full of people of such high power. It made me sweat with how much pressure and royalty was practically in this building. It didn't help that the halls had luxury wooden floors in geometric patterns with large chandeliers hanging from the high ceiling and paintings depicting famous Islamic battles framed on off-white walls.

It also was quite the drive to get here. An hour to be exact.

It's quite unfortunate...

Emphasis on quite. I have to come back to the Agency to get my nerves checked for further damage as well. However, Dr. Morrison isn't a person to keep waiting. It was either her and my chance to go Interstellar, or get something checked now which Vince said was okay (for once) to not get checked immediately. Besides, the hot Nurse Arslan healed me in the most seductive way possible, and I cannot bring myself to go back to the Agency.

"You look like you're about to fart, Nico," Mila then said in English. "C'mon, what's bothering you?"

I shook my head, pursing my lips. "Nothing."

I almost suffocated when we walked into the Grand Hall. It was so spacious yet so claustrophobic with the change from off-white walls to carved mahogany. This was part of the actual headquarters, while the place we left behind was just where the main award ceremonies were set.

I let out a gasp of breath. "Lord, I can't believe I'm in this building even though I was being checked out by a doctor earlier while half naked."

She snorted as we moved deeper in the crowd, and Corporal Franklin searched for his woman. "Nico, I hope you know that everyone in the Scouting Grounds was talking about how flustered you were around Nurse Arslan."

I glared at her. "Mind your tongue, Mila."

"It's not like anyone in here speaks English anyways," she then added. "We're safe as long as—"

"Who doesn't speak English?" we then heard.

With instinct, Mila and I turned around and saluted. No matter who it was, they were still a higher rank than both of us. However, I felt my throat close in panic when Dr. Morrison was the said person.

She was the member of the Council responsible for the Scout Scurry, so while it wasn't surprising to see her here, it was beyond surprising to see her approach Mila and me in person. She had a long black dress where the front exposed her legs and the back trailed behind her. She walked slowly in her black heels, as if we could wait all day for her to come to us. And we could if we were told to. With that stern face with sharp features hidden behind bangs and long red hair and dark red lipstick, anyone would listen to her.
